hi

after many hours of down time of this forum I thought I will ask moneypot/Ryan that it would be nice to implement a forum on the moneypot site.  I know there was a forum long ago on the site and it was spammed a lot and Ryan took it down

my idea is that each app owner if he wants can open his own thread where he could offer promos and discuss his games with moneypot users.

if it is not a good idea or not worth the work to implement it so lets forget it Smiley

I agree.

Also a specific thread/forum for investor/bankroll discussion.

Good idea unless we want to keep weeding through 300 piles of all these stupid sport prediction and why do you gambles posts. This subforum is a cesspool of spam and could benefit investors with something else.

I like the forum idea, but the primary reason I took it down was that there's just not enough activity to warrant it. So it's conversation is probably better off here, or maybe forum.bitcoin.com

Just a heads up, I've deployed code that automatically disables the sessions of people grossly abusing the betting api (i.e. parallelizing api calls). It's quite lenient right now (only disables sessions of people who consistently paralleize request), but will get more strict as time comes.  I'll work on creating an acceptable use policy shortly, with some hard limits

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

IMO all moneypot user are going to the moneypot site if they want to look for (new)game apps and there they see this featured apps corner that you established. they are also looking at their moneypot stats and stats of other user and more

the investors going to the moneypot site and checking the last standings of their investment or investing/divesting.

all this happens on the moneypot site so it seems to be only natural to have a forum on moneypot site where the app owner can present his app(s) and like a user here mentioned even investors could have their corner in this forum.

even you said you liked the idea (btw the idea is from my partner and mod toto) but if it is to much work then it is a different reason and we can't tell you to do it, we as app owner just suggesting it and would be glad if we would get it.

Could someone explain how I could possibly lose my investment?

Really the only way sounds like a hacker or something right?

"The house always wins"

Aren't investors basically the house? I just don't understand how you could EVER lose long term with this sort of system.

You lose because someone else win from the house. Thats normal thing. How do you expect to win 100 % of the game? in long term you will eventually win but that does not mean you win all the time because there are variances

Very true. Also, don't forget that the investment and divestment of other investors will affect your stake %. So it is possible for you to have a loss when investor profit goes down, new investments come in and investor profit goes back up to the previous level.

Simple answer is, you wont loose long term. But this "long term profit" can start anywhere from a few days to 20 years due to variance.
Especially as the HE is not always 1% i believe it is much lower on some games.

The house only "always" wins if people infinitely re-gamble all payouts they make. Eventually the house edge will whittle them down to nothing. This is a good enough approximation for a witty expression, but in reality there are a lot of other factors. People can win at the casino and stop playing, or they can win and go somewhere else. Or they can win, and you need to divest. Or they can win and your investment gets diluted so much it can't recover.

If I may interrupt:

What programming knowledge is nececcasry to create a game for the site? What paradigm is most optimal for any game? Does/can the API communicate with a broad range of languages?

As long as it can make http/json requests, any programming language is fine. If it's browser-based, you're definitely best off using javascript or something that compiles to it =)

I think he meant "too bad", and "don't".

MoneyPot is basically just an API. They don't let you use anything other than scripts for gambling - but most (if not all) of the moneypot casinos don't explicitly support scripted gambling. You know how bustabit lets you write your own script? Maybe he's looking for something like that.
