Hi all

I see a genuine need in bitcoin for easier cold storage. Everyone does or should know the risks associated with hot bitcoin storage whether in a personal wallet or a third party site. I was a victim of gox and many others have had similar problems. Therefore cold storage is important and the ability to keep bitcoins safe and secure offline could build up very much needed trust in the bitcoin ecosystem.

The problems in cold storage are that its a little difficult for novice computer users (and yes, naive computers users should use bitcoin before anybody says otherwise) to use them. The creation of cold storage is at the least very fiddly as this article admits http://codinginmysleep.com/bitcoin-cold-storage-in-plain-english/.

A good way forward is items that physically bear keys such as coins. These coins, unfortunately, are often marketed as collectors items and have a very high markup above what you might consider the "spot" btc price (for this purpose), high individual amounts (1btc or more), aren't very tradable due to the previous factors or because they contain a whole wallet balance, and are not usually that durable.

How about teaming up to create a physical bitcoin bearing item that has low denominations (scaling upwards), low margins (we could do some collectors items), and is durable. The end product would be that if someone wanted to buy a bitcoin and have it in cold storage they can just buy it from us and not have to fiddle around with wallet files

Any thoughts are welcome including negative feedback or pointing out competition. I do genuinely see a need for this so your thoughts are welcome.

So you want to create bitcoin physical Undecided I doubt people still call it bitcoin, because basically bitcoin is digital currency. I ever see about service which can create bitcoin physical, I think that's just for collection not for currency or payment tool.

The purpose of putting bitcoin onto something physical is just to keep it safe and also allow easy trading in the physical world. You don't have to hold all of your bitcoins that way.
