Scammers shouldn't be banned IMHO because they will come up with new clean account. Now they might atleast continue their scam in their negatively marked accounts.

The will always come with a new account to scam , guess no one really use a negative account to scam, unless they are trying to scam a newbie

There will be always unhappy people if you left a negative trust on their account,and they might create some story of you abusing the trust system

In my honest opinion : it is a little bit exagerated . Why should the staff ban the scammer an scam accusers?

Yes, scammers have to be punished (a better trust system would be nice, but I don't know how).
And yes, abusing the trust system should be considered scam and punished too.
But I don't think that trust system can be done much better than it is now without having some sort of "cops" in the system. But that's the default trust and some already abused that too, so we can't rely on those "cops" either. So.. it's hard.

However, although I feel that you proposal have obvious mistakes, I am glad that proposals pop up every now and then. Maybe at some point something useful can be extracted and used in the next version of the forum.

First of all I really don't think that the forum is obsessed with banning people. Its just to keep the forum clean, spammers get banned. BadBear doesn't derive pleasure out of banning people, its just that its a part of his job(to keeep the forum readable).

And about whether scammers should be banned or not, this topic has been earlier debated numerous times, this is a quote from BadBear on the same issue-

People are capable of making up their own minds on who to trade with as long as they have all the information. Breaking a law doesn't mean you don't have anything to contribute.

All that aside, nobody wants to take the amount of time it would take to personally verify every instance of scamming beyond a reasonable doubt. Do you have hours to kill every day, for nothing in return besides a "Thanks!" or "Fuck you!". Or just let people decide for themselves?

As said several times no one here is obsessed with banning people. The reason that so many people get banned is because so many people break the rules and ruin the experience for everyone else as well as sheer numbers. The fact that we are closing in on a half million members means that even if a small percentage of users are banned then a large outright number of people will get banned. I believe badbear has said previously that less then 3% of users have ever been banned.

The reason why scammers are not banned is because it is simply not possible to determine for the administration to be able to tell beyond a reasonable doubt that someone in fact scammed. Plus the time and effort required to give someone a fair shot of due process is simply too great to account for the number of scam attempts on an Internet forum for a crypto currency that, if used properly will allow them to remain anon.  Plus if scammers are banned then the forum would essentially be saying that anyone who is not banned is not a scammer and as a result the forum could be held liable if someone gets scammed.

If you are considering trading on here then you should first learn to take the proper precautions to protect yourself.

I agree that scammers should be banned but why scam accusers? You mean to say that those who accuse others as scammers based on an assumption? For me, it's better that those users be removed from the default trust.

If you think we missed something, you haven't told correctly or haven't looked our posts correctly. Either post correctly or look what we said carefully. I don't even understand why we should ban scam accusers?

I think he (Lethn) should know that users will never stop to 'make' their complaint about the system, it is normal. The staff should not intervene, there is only an unique and important rule : don't spam.

This is why this forum is awesome, you can write whatever you want (always in the respect of other) but you should not spam.
