Hi,

Are there businesses that offer home services or delivery services and accept bitcoin or alt coins?

I'm building a site that lists home services and door to door services based on localities and thought I'd ask here for such services that accept bitcoin or alt coins.

This could be computer fixing, laundry, deliveries (local not shipped,) etc...

Very good idea, I'll ask my dhobi if he accepts bitcoins the next time he comes.

I'll also ask the morning newspaper guy if he'd take btc as payment.

On a serious note, Bitcoin is a virtual currency, real world usage like that would be next to impossible in current times, especially cuz this would involve some form offline wallet maintained and constantly updated on a usb drive. Our 'home service' guys cant write their own names forget about bitcoins. (no offence)

As far as computer service guys are concerned their visit charges are roughly 300 - 400 inr bucks. With Bitcoin's price volatility they will loose 50 bucks by the time they cash out Bitcoins through some Indian exchange.


However if your question was related to retail business then yes there are a few shops and retailers that accept btc.

In India, in most of our villages cowdung is used as fuel / room heater / mud floor wipe (room cooler) / building material (for mud huts) / power (bio electricity) etc So if any one wanted to send some one shit here they can simply do that for free and it'd be considered more of a good thing than bad.
Might not go too well with the high aristoBrats but you get the gist.

Good idea...people lives in villages or far away from main city always face problems when they urgently need Door Repair service...it would be very helpful for them if you will be successful in building a site which will provide free home delivery repair service.

R U Kidding me??? Door to Door services and that also in India?? Next to impossibe atleast for next 15 years. Are you aware about the illeteracy rate of india?? How can one start using bitcoins/altcoins where he doesn't have a basic knowledge of what internet is all about??  you expect him to use bitcoins??

If you are looking for Door to Door Services that accepts bitcoins in India than you are going dear.. Not possible atleast for next 10 years. The People who are involved in Door to Door Sales are not that educated how you expect that they will be aware of bitcoins??

There are some villages in India who even doesn't know what Internet is??

How one can expect that they will purchase by bitcoins?? In villages mostly you will find farmers and small shopkeepers who don't even accept payments by credit cards so accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment will surely not work and Door to Door Services simply not possible in India.
