I got interested into BTC mining about 2 months ago, did my research and at the time of purchase (taking into account the fact that i live in Venezuela) the most easy-to-get miner was the ASICMiner Prisma 2.0; after getting ahold of 2 i found out, much to my dismay, that they came without neither the USB adapter nor the BlockErupter Controller.

Finally i was ablo to contact HolyScott through HolyBitcoin.com and bought a BE Controller, after following Dogie's setup guide for ASICMiner Prisma and buying the exact accesories he recommends (using an amazon link) i managed to set everything up and running for a few hours, only to find that the AC adapter i bought from Dogie's Amazon link fried the BE Controller, mad as you'd imagine that i was, i did a bit more of research and stumbled upon this PL2303 XA/HXA UART-USB Adapter, and after trying everything i could ranging from running cgminer on the RPi to installing a minera image and trying to edit the build to see if it worked i still can't get the miner up and running, the RPi wouldn't recognize them.

I'm really desperate at the moment and would really love some proffessional advice. The following links show pictures of the PL2303 XA/HXA UART-USB Adapter i'm using and a screenshot of the error message Cgminer throws at me.

Did you buy a BE 2.0 controller or 1.0 controller? Prisma 2.0 units are not compatible with cgminer and not compatible with the BE 1.0 controller. It's a shame, but I think that's the way it is going to stay unless something miraculous happens with ASICMiner.

For reference, BE 2.0 controllers will display the following version information in the header
BE200 String JET Stratum Miner V 2.27 (JS)

If you need to buy a 2.0 controller, let me know. I have a few left over.

I was able to get about half speed using an USB adapter, but only the BE 2.0 got me full speed hashing.
The only external difference I could find between the 1.0 and 2.0 controller was that 1.0 is supposed to be powered with +5v, and the 2.0 uses +12v
At least, that's what is written on them.
