Hi guys,

If you didnt know, this thread has recently been bumped by alt accounts who are trashing the Spreadcoin thread, and are continuously talking about having uninvesting in Spreadcoin and various other activity.

So far Timelord2067 has connected 18 (I think) accounts so far
More info here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1702409.msg17591697#msg17591697

These accounts include:
SpreadCoin, georgem, e1ghtSpace, spreadspreadcoin, Mr. Spread, Spreadcointalk, Spreadcoin_, Mr_Spread, rhinomonkey, spreadcoiner, eightspaceaids, poachrhinomonkeys, Kim Georgem Un, Georgem W. Bush, Georgem Washington, Mr Spread, hamsterinthemachine, Mr.Spreadthehamster.

Timelord2067 connected my account (e1ghtSpace) with Mr_Spread due to the positive trust I left on the account.
Quote
e1ghtSpace vouches for Mr_Spread u=461477 (activity just two) - who's signature is: Don't mind the registration date, it's a glitch.

Quote
e1ghtSpace 0: -0 / +0   2015-02-27   0.00000000      Totally is the legit developer of Spreadcoin. Don't trust anyone else. Wink

As you may guess, the Mr_Spread account I made was a mere joke. This was a bit after Mr. Spread dissappeared. I made the account in 2015 and haven't used it since, except admitting it was mine in the thread mentioned above.

I also believe all of the accounts mentoned above have been given negative trust.

I am just posting this here to clear my name and show that I am not the creator of any of the other alt accounts.

What I don't understand is why they think you are running the alts rather than any of the other people on that list....

That bloke talks about proof but offers no proof!

Would be amazing if he was right and georgem and Mr Spread were alts that you control!  I seriously underestimated you if so  Wink

@Patrons

BTW, good sources for bitcoin nodes are

https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/

and for litecoin:

https://bitinfocharts.com/litecoin/nodes-active/

For spreadcoin use my full node:

SPR:5.35.253.206

or your own, as you like.

I suggest you connect to your local full nodes only, since we don't want to "annoy" other people's full nodes too much as long as the spreadwallet is still in development...  Cool
But be your own judge.

The spreadwallet is now publicly presenting itself as /SpreadWallet:0.0.1/ so other nodes will know who they are talking with.  Wink

BTW, looking to buy some hardware again.

I placed 11850 SPR at 2000 Satoshis,
I want to revamp my MacBook Pro with 8Gbyte and an SSD (It currently only has 2Gbytes and a small 100 GByte SATA),
and also buy a 2-port KVM switch so that I can integrate my macbook through displayport into my main screen/mouse/keyboard setup.
After that, there might even be enough left for yet another Raspberry Pi,  Cool

Thanks everybody.

A few questions if I may.

What attracts people to download Spread wallet instead of using an online block explorer?

Do people people really want to download a wallet and a full blockchain for block explorer functionality?

Just trying to get my head around what would attract somebody to choose Spreadwallet over an alternative.

I don't want to guess what attracts/motivates people,
I want to "decentralize everything",
which in turn will attract/motivate people who believe in decentralization.

(decentralize everything - you even have it written under your avatar, but why again?)

We shouldn't care about what people think who give a crap about decentralization.
Why should we base our decisions on their feelings and expectations?

BTW, the blockexplorer is just one section within the spreadwallet.

More to come soon... I will need to clean up the forum/website/threads to better explain the spreadwallet/spreadcoin and more.

I believe that too many critical systems in the world are centralised in a way that makes it easier for people to be exploited. My primary belief in decentralisation is that it empowers people to have better freedom of choice.  Secondary to that is the fact that centralised systems are vulnerable and I see too many business disasters on a regular basis.  One day one of those business disasters will have a profound negative impact on a large number of people, not just financially.

I've never watched a project run by a developer who has no concern about the user's feelings and expectations. I see a conflict already...surely you care about what your Patron users think? If you don't keep them happy, the money stops. Its going to be interesting to see how this pans out.

I've never watched a project run by a developer who has no concern about the user's feelings and expectations...

Imagine the outcry if Peter Wuille or Gregory Maxwell based their decisions on some PR-Investors "feewings"....
You really just don't get it, do you?  Grin

If I run a bakery selling bread, and some guy comes in and demands vegetables, and then starts fudding because his "feewings" are hurt...
... why would I be concerned about this guy's expectations?
I want to bake the best bread in the world and make my customers happy.

So why would I care about centralized blockexplorers when I am selling decentralized solutions?

George, you would do well to stop dismissing people's questions and concerns as FUD.

Greg Maxwell doesn't base his decisions on his user's feelings.  He bases them on the advice, suggestions, knowledge, contributions and even mistakes of his community.  He also responds to people he disagrees with without insulting them.

Are you kidding, do you ever read his reddit comments? (especially the ones he deletes quick)

Lol, fair point.

"He is arrogant to the extreme, destructive/disruptive to social circles and as an extension decision-making (as he must ALWAYS be right), and thus incapable of being any kind of valuable contributor."
