Nothing wrong with this. According to Ian Maxwell, posts like this actually buy USD so they belong to "Buying". But "Selling BTC" is a clearer title.

The OP is a scammer. He tried to trick me into sending first by referencing bitcoin-otc credentials which in fact belong to a different person.
Luckily, I'm not a sap.
I guess it's true what they say about things too good to be true.

If someone is selling or buying at a ridiculous price you really have to question their motives.

Did you let the person on bitcoin-otc know that someone is trying to impersonate him?

I did. That was my final confirmation that a scam attempt has taken place - the fact the lynzoy stopped responding once I asked for a signature is circumstantial evidence at best.

I offered him $7/coin via PM which he agreed to.

I then gave him a payment address.

He then replied saying "he's been scammed too many times" so I guess he wants me to send first... ain't gonna happen sorry.

... What are you trying to say exactly? We can do business with newbies, as long as we don't send first (and don't receive revocable payment).

He asked me for half upfront as well.  Said he'd been scammed.

I asked for another way to exchange, and he claims his paypal has been frozen, not to mention his distrust of the platform.

Not going for it.  Neither should you.
