Hello Bitcoiners,
I am curious as to who's using Bitcoin, and what they're using it for.

If you would be kind enough as to fill out this survey, please do so.

If I get enough responses (enough so that it makes real data, not a few people), I'll post the results on here.

Do not do this survey if you don't want me to post the results publicly.

http://kwiksurveys.com/s.asp?sid=zjbgxd749nn03yo13593

EDIT: If anyone wants more questions, do tell.

EDIT EDIT: I added two changes after 30 responses were made:
1: Added option for "Never" on when will you leave.
2: What is your longest commitment for Bitcoin at the moment?

When do you plan on moving on from Bitcoin?

Did I misunderstand this one or is it a silly question?

Why?  I don't think you get why I asked that question.  It was so that I can see at which point most people leave.  Like, if people leave at collage or something.

Great survey... Looking forward to seeing results.

As for leaving bitcoin, I think it's a fair question, but one that many are probably not ready to answer (pending results...).

I can see how some people might answer never, or maybe some people have started projects that have a defined end point.  I have entered into two year mining contracts that I need to make good on through 2014.  However, I plan on continuing personal mining at that point.

Perhaps another great question would be what is your current longest Bitcoin commitment?  That would gauge how long people have committed for various development/mining/ new business opportunities.

Seems like a silly question.  For me, and I assume for a lot of people, such an action would be event driven.  In my case (barring system failure) it would be some combination of my no longer feeling that the project was sufficiently promising as a potential benefit to society, and no longer had any reasonable chance to make me rich.  I took a wild guess that that would occur in the 3-5 year range though it could be much sooner or just as easily, never.

I'm on board the bitcoin train until I leave my wordly body. I also have a niece and nephew hooked (12-14 respectively) because I pay them for chores in bitcoin, so they may be lifers too...lol. There you go,add that as a question option....lifer.

When's the last time you did something for 11+ years and then stopped doing it?

I haven't thought much about it, but I'm gonna venture a guess that anything I've done for 11 + years, I'm still doing...

An example would be using my ID in order to buy alcohol and tobacco.

Another would be using NNTP.

I agree that life changes as you age; however, let me ask when's the last time you did something that's not age specific for 11+ years and then stopped doing it?

As I mentioned, I practically lived on the usenet for a decade.  I could hardly imagine life without it at one point.  But my utilization tapered off and I don't think I've subscribed to any nntp feed for at least several years.  alt.politics.misc was my thing back in the day as I recall.

It's not there?  I just copied a country list, so if it's not there, just choose something close to it.  China, I guess.
