Just a warning to those that may have come across this new 'service'. They are new on LB and buying BTC at very very high rates, with a low feedback score. Besides this, they advertise their site 'ebitinvest.com' on Localbitcoins. Besides the cheap '1990s' looking site, they seem to be offering HYIP investments and/or Ponzis along with buying Bitcoin.

This is, however, not the reason I am warning you about them. While looking at their 'about us' section, I seen their "Team", along with their "team's" photos and names. Being the paranoid person I am, naturally, I looked at the photos with skepticism and discovered something.

Their "team" seems to be a part of another (actual) organization called "Peterson Incorporated", with the exact same "Our Team" photos, but different (real) names.
EDIT: They changed their photos from another site now lol. Edited with new link of the real people. I wonder if I should contact these companys and tell them they are being impersonated?
Observe.
Shady possible probable confirmed scammers: http://www.ebitinvest.com/#!about-us/c1diu    Roll Eyes
Actual people that own those photos, and are the actual..people in the photos..: https://www.esl.org/investment/isllc_consultants.html

Call me paranoid, but is this not a good reason to avoid this site and their services on Localbitcoins like the plague?

Better safe than sorry folks.

Edit: Oh! Whaddya know? These same 'people' own another scam fully legitimate business...http://grow-btc.com/about-us.html <---This site still has the old photos.

Christ....

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

100% Scam, you're right. And the fact they have another scam going wit the exact same layout is troubling. Can you link us to the locatbit profile so we can report it and leave negative feedback?

Hey sorry for the late reply. The post above this one has the right one. https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/EBITINVEST.COM/   what is surprising about this though, is that apparently LB has their identity verified 100%. Facebook, Passport, Phone number and email all checked. I can't imagine LB does much rigorous verification though as clearly these guys are scammers.

Perhaps the scammers really did ID themselves, which means it will be easy to catch them if the authorities ever get involved.
I've reported their profile as a scam and explained what you did in the first post. Hopefully localbit will take notice and get this scam shut down immediately.

I'll update with the response I get from their support team. By the way, someone should take a screenshot of their website in case they try to go back and fix their mistakes.

It's funny how they think they can get way with just changing the pictures, as if they think we can't find the source of the images.

Dear members,

We are disappointed by these allegations, we notified the authorities and we are determined to sue the member of this forum entitled "mistercoin". He brings these accusations from his delusions that are not proved.

Yes, that's why your localbitcoins account got suspended, because of how legit you are  Roll Eyes
The grammar in this sentence just screams scam.

Please notify me of the court date of you suing the OP, so I can bring some popcorn.

I urge everyone who reads this thread to leave some negative reputation to this account, as they are determined only on scamming.

Seeing as how I am the one who is getting served, I would also LOVE to see the court date of this 100% legitimate business that I have just ruined because they are so legitimate and not even the slightest malicious because that's what I do is ruin totally 100% legitimate businesses. Gongomanny, make sure you have a pack of Kettle corn popcorn for me on the court date as well Wink

lol, these scam sites are all over the place. Here's another: https://www.albionunion.com/about.php

"testimonials" are cut & paste, compare
   08/02/2015 - Igor Revmi (on https://www.albionunion.com/testimonials.php)
   14/06.2014 User: ishajlorsanov (https://www.albionunion.com/testimonials.php)

Doubt anyone actually falls for them.

Wow lol. You'd think they would at least switch up the photos or somethin. Scammers are getting lazy these days.

What I want to know is why they bothered mentioning their site at all on lbc. Surely there isn't a way to actually scam via lbc as a seller, and as a buyer you'd have to use stolen accounts which still leaves a pretty hefty trail.

They were buying BTC, I am not sure if they were selling, but they were definitely buying. At extremely high rates.

Thank you. Added to the list of Scam Websites.

Thanks TomatoCage. I will continue to update this thread with a list of their cookie-cutter scam sites, if I find any more. Good to know someone is actually taking these things seriously in the forums. I am writing up an article about these type of HYIP/Ponzi scams for my site.

Back in my early days of investments/crypto trading, I got my fair share of losses at the hands of malicious people. The first 1BTC I ever got in my life was swiftly taken away by a scammer, back when escrow was only in its infancy regarding Bitcoin. It was one of the worst feelings I had ever experienced, working your ass off to get your first taste, and then having some idiot(s) use your trust as fodder.

If I, or anyone can stop even one person from falling victim to any type of scam, I will, and hope others will, take the time to do so.
