Not sure you understand how the legal system works. [In US] a person may not be retried for the same crime if found innocent. This doesn't mean that he could not be charged with a crime if sufficient evidence surfaces at a later date. In other words, if I report a murder and there's not enough evidence to press charges, you can be reasonably sure that the murderer will be charged if I come up with the smoking gun at a later date. So no, reporting him now would not "result in an open and closed case in his favor," not unless the case goes to trial & he's acquitted. Pretty sure Australian law is similar.

BTW, which posts of TheGambler were restored? Looking at his profile, he has 101 posts & hero status, and the few posts I've clicked on are irrelevant one-liners?

Yes in the U.S., you cannot be retried if you are found not guilty for the same crime. However if you approach a law enforcement agency with flimsy evidence of a crime, and not enough evidence to establish probable cause then when additional evidence is presented to them they may not take it as seriously (thinking I am crying wolf ect) and they are less likely to spend additional of their limited resources investigating a case.

I am not sure if any of TheGamblers posts were undeleted however I do know that the posts in a number of his scam threads were undeleted, notably his bitcoin stocks thread, and a few others I believe, I think bit-dividends is another one and two or three others.

TheGamblers posts are not one liners. They have mostly been edited to make it look like he is responding to random threads with one liners. If you go to his post history then click on the posts he was making then you will see that he edited the posts and moved the threads he created. The conversations within the threads he created are very different from what he edited his posts to.

On a somewhat related note as to how much effort was put into finding this person, and stopping his scams in their tracks, I would like to request a VIP account, or if not then a donator account, or if not then at the very least a custom title of "honorary legendary" member. As a result of my time and effort, someone who has scammed massive amounts of money will likely no longer attempt to scam here and someone who has spammed massively (via bump spam of his various shill alts for his various HYIP scams) will no longer spam.

My guess is he probably has, and has been ignored much like he is being ignored now. Funny how priorities change when they aren't personally offended by a complaint. If it threatens their clout and control of the trust system they are all over it. When it means busting a scammer they will get to it just after they get to putting up the new forums.
