Hello Everyone.

I wanted to introduce myself. I'm bawolff (aka Brian). I was recently hired to help with the technical maintenance of the bitcoin wiki. I hope to make the wiki a better place for everyone who contributes to it.


About me:

I've been a MediaWiki developer for about 5 years now. In Wikimedia wikis, I'm known as User:Bawolff.  Umm, I like cats (I never know what to write in about me things)

Is it possible to do a database download of the Bitcoin wiki ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Database_download ) ? - without hacking into the server  Grin

There's a public (filtered) dump available when the wiki is online/working.

Hey, would it be possible to add new namespaces to the wiki? I don't think you can do it without editing LocalSettings.

That'd be cool, though; there's a short list of stuff I can't do myself here

It does require editing to the localsettings IIRC
