Doesn't that give the devs a several week head start on everyone else?

Many people have the miners working. Mining isn't our source of profit and never will be.

Additionally, linux is a free OS. If you want to mine Siacoin, it's pretty easy to install linux. Even then, we're not sure that it will work for all card. GPU dev is tricky and we're doing our best. We've got less than 3% of the hashrate right now.

Mining still doesnt work for alot of people or is just incredibly bugged. Should I just assume this is normal? https://imgur.com/8yN3NQQ
Whoa over 6,500 blocks mined? lol on 30 MH

Yeah, they are showing up in my wallet eventually. Obviously the miner is reporting more blocks than I am actually getting due to the bug, but it is working.

Can siacoins be sent to the address that was generated with the siafund address generator?

I have mined 6 blocks with just 7 CPUs, but I would love to put my dual GPUs to work if they would actually work.

I gave up on the CPU push lol, so went back and walked through the thread and all and finally got the radeon to start hashing. As far as dual cards you may hit a snag there. Not sure if anyone has had luck with dual gpu, but it seems that it may not see but 1 card. You could set up a second miner if we had a little control over command line... perhaps.

Ok, anyone have a dual gpu working? just curious now.

In CPU mining it would only see 1 CPU but I had 2 on the board.

you can start cpu mining with "siac miner start [number of threads]" - siac is part of the CLI release
managed to get my i7 to 100% with 8 threads ( 4 cores + 4 hyperthreadding ) - so setting it to 7 keeps your cpu room to use it
tho i wouldnt recommend cpu  mining - hash rate & difficulty are already too high - finding a block with it would be close to gambling

so far you can only access 1 gpu  with the gpu miner - might help distribution a bit Wink

sometimes theres some false output of super high amounts of blocks beeing mined - you can ignore those

I have been running the first version of the windows 32 wallet since launch and mining. I rebooted the computer today and can not get the wallet to run properly. None of the tabs work and it shows nothing where it should show the status of the wallet.

I cannot find the wallet.dat file. Please advise.

I'm running the latest version (Sia UI version: 0.3.0 b365 Sia version: 0.3.3) on another computer and notice there is no longer a mining tab. Does it start and auto configure now?

Thanks

First there is a new upgraded wallet with the CPU mining disabled. So pretty much need to move up to GPU. You still can mine CPU but will be very few blocks.

Second I had the same issue with none of the tabs working. I deleted apps data/roaming file and reinstalled it and it has worked since. But in the new wallet release the mining tab is removed.

I have never seen a wallet.dat so not sure how a backup feature will work., YET lol

Thanks, which file did you delete?

How would I gpu mine this coin? There are no pools or instructions on the website or on the 1st post of this thread unless I'm missing something.
I was thinking that the (mining) on this coin was from leasing hard drive space not cpu mining . . . Wish the website had some more info.
