I see that siac is back in the Sia folder...

When I run the following command in command line
siac miner status

I get the info for CPU mining.

I was wondering if there was another similar command for the GPU mining? I want to check and make sure my mining is actually registering/working as it should be.
Still haven't mined a block and I've been going at it pretty strong for a while (1-2 gigahashes/sec).

"siac miner" will tell you if you mined a block succesfully with both cpu and gpu.
in order to be sure mining is working correctly, you need to wait until you find a block.
with your hashrate, you could mine a block a day or less.

On another note, anyone know the best mining GPU to use for SIA? (if electricity is not a problem)

with an r9 290x you can reach 1.1 Gh/s with overclocking.

1.25 here!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Is it okay if I don't do anything with the siafunds for now or is it necessary to make a new address and transfer them over? My siafunds are still in the original address I redeemed the sianotes with and I'd rather leave them there if possible.

Can someone please answer this ?

I'm also more inclined to keeping my siafunds untouched until there are safer/easier ways to transfer them.

It's completely fine to keep your siafunds in the address you've currently got them in. As long as you keep your private keys, there's no need to move them around.

Thanks Taek.  Do we have a siafund wallet yet?

Yes, instructions here: http://siacoin.com/siafunds-alpha.html

They are command-line only, and it's still got some sharp corners. There's not a testnet yet to try things out on. As long as you follow the instructions carefully, you'll be fine but if you don't mind waiting, we hope to have UI + wallet integration in 0.4.0.

Then, to verify that an address has siafunds expect to 4.0 without fear of losing

Sorry for my broken English XD

I'm running this:

https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-UI/releases/tag/v0.3.3.3-beta

On linux 64 bits.

After some time, the UI gets "empty", i.e. it doesn't update so you can see the content of the previous window which was there, then eventually becomes just all white.
The daemon is still running normally, though.

I can confirm this. Same platform, same whiteout happening.

hmm. That hasn't been a problem for me, I've been running the UI continuously since launch.

We're rebuilding the UI from scratch right now, it'll be at least partially ready in 0.4.0, more announcements on that will be ready in a few weeks.

same here ...

taek and his team are working on all of this ...

i think the only thing they need right now are bug reports and 'time' without much pressure - just so they can focus on what needs to be done ...

its a good project ... quite impressed so far - but quite a few things need to be implemented after quite a few bugs get squashed ...

You have to play around with the miner settings. Increasing -I gives you more hashrate but also makes your computer less stable. Increasing -C is good to a point but it'll slow down the rate at which you get updates.

I think the readme on the repo is fairly comprehensive at this point.
