Siacoin's deposite and withdraws freezed on Poloniex?

"SC is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the SC team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling."

Why?

How long is it freezed? And why?

Quoting myself, No answer?

Poloniex is experiencing problems not only with Sia, but with LTC, Golem and others as well. Bittrex is working currently without flaws.

(...) I think they should focus on the simplicity of the client side and marketing rather on the hosting side.

Minebox is actually an independent company not related with the developing team (Nebulous)
Hearing about them having problems with several other coins too with wallets not being synced or unavailable all together.
Didn't even know if sia was available on bittrex until I checked when you just mentioned it.
It is doing good today too on there.

Wallet all synced up and ready for testing now on the new version of the updated version 1.3.1 codename: Capricorn. Grin

And we have siacoin lift off! Cool

Thanks from

dashingriddler Smiley
Sia Developer has just informed us at reddit that they contected poloniex and they are not working to solve the issue and it should be lasting for more then few days.
Polo also had problems with Steem, lisk, Zcash,Ethereum,Litcoins, and many more, and they solve all within a week or so, nothing to worry about.
Bittrex and Yunbi are operating sia markets without any problems.

Are your question means PoW and PoS, is right? You can understand PoW look like as need mining for creating coins, PoS need holding your coins in PoS wallet for receive stake. Read more detail at here will helps you understand the different between PoW and PoS:

Why am I not surprised? in order to host files and earn money I'd need to have 2000 tokens in my wallet, this is like steemit, have some steem to have power when you up vote people and then earn money, no thanks.

LOL it's nothing like steemit. Hot damn read the white paper before make comments on the functionality of coin. You lose reputation when you make comments like that. Those 2000 tokens that you have to put up are used as a deterrent against unreliable hosts in the network.

when i log into my wallet i loose 10 SC
it does not always happen
but it is the second time that happend !???!
is it normal? i dont unterstand why do i loose money by unlocking my wallet?
i have not rented any storage and there arew no contracts.
at first i tought someone was stealing my sia coin but then i wondered why he/she/it would only send Ten Sia coin.
doesnt really make sense xD

i would appreaciate if someone could awnser my question.

and i have to say i love sia, sadly the other storage solutions get a little more press but i think sia is the one.

Are you sure?
What wallet are you using?
you better check the transactions history, it's either your wallet is compromised, you forgot about sending a transaction, or you thought that you had 10 more siacoins but you actually didn't have

Well don't worry about it, your wallet is not compromised for sure, because then you wouldn't lose only 10 SC, anyway , maybe you got an active file contract?
I would recommend checking the address that your wallet pays 10SC to.

could anyone please let me know what will happen to sia price / value once the asic gets into play?!
from what i understand:

coins get created at a fixxed rate.
the network hash will raise and the competition for the blocks get higher.
the pool shares will change, people with gpu wont be able to earn by mining anymore.
but there is still the fixxed amount of SC beeing generated.
so basicly the supply curve doesnt change and coins remain valuable, right!?

i am holding sia long term and would rather not see the price plummet.
i think is a very promising investment.

we need more tutorials on how to work with the sia blockchain and people talk more about sia Cheesy

if i only could read the block explorer,
better said the transaction statistics.
is has input address, output address,
none of which i own or know
and both 10SC transactions have different data.
it happend after unlocking the wallet
i have no contracts, hehe, the blockchain is burning money.
should i report this to the devs?

also there is no way to check my old addresses
sia generates a new address everytime you click receive coins and doesnt keep history of old address, but they still work.
i try not to unlock my wallet because i may loose 10 sia each time Sad

Hello all... could someone kindly explain the difference in the algorithms used for mining versus storage?

Check this article of the Wiki: https://siawiki.tech/about/pow_vs_pos

i dont know why or how
there is alot more in that wallet xD

As they indicated you, check that Tx in the transaction history. It doesn't look like a theft at all, only 10SC...

But for me, it simply looks like collateral being locked in a contract. Also, take in mind announcing your host is a transaction with its fees.

Also, I don't know if it is your case, but don't use the same wallet in two different computers. Never, specially for hosting. Wallets have internal transactions between your addresses, and one computer can become "blind" to some of the addresses in the outputs of those transactions.

That's correct. Supply will not change because more hashing power drives the difficulty up, keeping the block time at 10 minutes on average. The entrance of ASICs on Sia simply means that GPU miners will be outcompeted and thus the mining power will switch hands

i dont know if you saw that, i already awnserd for the TX transaction.
the problem is that sia is kinda very anonymous, cant see the amount of sia in address on explorer and the transaction data is very confusing xD
like: i check the transaction TX but "from" address i dont know and "too" address i also dont know
how could that tell me anything?! Smiley

i am very sure that i dont have any contracts.
in the early days i thought about getting some storage but i didnt rent any.
no contracts just wallet, for sure, also i use this wallet for over 1 year.
i think the first time the -10SC happened after updating to 1.2
now the second time after updating to 1.3
maybe it could have something to do with the update?
as far as i know, if i login now nothing will happen.

The whole crypto market is going up at the moment but I think that sia has the potential to catch a strong momentum, let's see what happens.

I hope that we could reach 400 by the end of this week, it could be great for the future,

I want to mine some Siacoins on my PNY XLR8 GTX 1070 and I'm using gominer on Windows 10 having 1520 MH/s. Which OC settings would you recommend me for improving the performances or what other miner would be better for nanopool?

why you need to access the same wallet from two computers?
yes its possible to access the same wallet from two different computers
you just have to download wallets and place your wallet backup file in second computer's wallet
also this coin's last three months chart looks amazing it looks it is gonna pop up

If like me, they could be day dreaming of riches while at work and making trades. I immediately move my coins off exchange MOST of the time. Eventually I want to migrate them off my work PC to my home pc.

No multisig wallets available.

Using the same wallet in two machines is supported starting on version 1.3 of the Client. If you are just using the wallet to send and receive coins it will be ok, but if you plan to host or rent file storage it could be still problematic, specially for hosting.
