I have this really old sia wallet from 6 months ago and It won't synchronize.

It says synchronizing but stuck at the same percentage.

What should I do ?

Okay I think the percentage is moving but its just slow

price divided by 4 since i bought and the wallet is an awful mess

i know its hard to believe the price drop we have experienced
but it is only a $value, there is still development work taking
place and storage useage is on the increase.

It still has the same future we all got involvd with it for!!

Two weeks ago an arrangement was made with the RNDR so they'll use the Sia storage network for storing their rendering projects of their project. Aside that, the team is right now focused now on increasing the reliability and scalability of the project, so I don't think it is the moment for marketing. I guess that will come next year.

Has Sia still been developed recent months? Have you ever use Sia services i  real life? thank you all.

The Sia team has contributed to 6 repositories since Sunday Nov. 5th.  Most of the heavy development work was focused around the new writeaheadlog and pages repos.  Chris led that effort with over 4,000 lines of new code committed and merged.  Keep up the good work Chris!

Luke has made excellent progress integrating the new writeaheadlog and pagemanager (pages repo) into the Sia codebase.  Development is ongoing and must be completed before 1.3.1RC2 is released.

Luke, David, and Ava continue to make incredible progress in the backlog of Pull Requests and Issues.  Across the 6 repos updated this week 9 PRs have been merged, 15 issues closed and many more labeled, reviewed, and commented on.  This week also marked the first full week the Sia team had an on-call person who was available via Discord for community questions, code reviews, and general Sia discussion.  Thanks to mtlynch for the on-call suggestion!>>

Aside that, the service has been working for 2 years and currently the storage network consists on 3.3 Petabytes of available storage across more than 850 hosts. It holds 105TB of data. This is the growth of the file contracts in the last 6 months:

I have an 2 year old sia seed. now I wanted to log in at the actual sia wallet and I get this error: "error when calling /wallet/unlock: provided encryption key is incorrect"

I used this key before and I´m sure it worked. was there some swap or something in the last months?

The bitcoin price is killing most alts lol. We see 1 day of alt growth followed by 5 days of BTC growth, and 3 days of all RED.

In this situation its kinda hard too see alts do well till another crazy month like May/june

Hi. In August 2015 a network upgrade made incompatible the old wallet system based on a file, being only compatible the seed-based wallets. Your seed should be still compatible, no other upgrades has been done with the seed system to the best of my knowledge.

Check that the sequence of words of the seed is complete (do all the words make sense in English? is any character missing in the words?). If you are copy/pasting the seed check you are not adding extra spaces at the begging or the end of the sequence, no break likes in the middle.

Lastly, did you created a previous wallet in your new client and now you are trying to unlock your previous seed? If that is the case, that is not how Sia works: you can only have one wallet/seed associated with Sia, so if you created a new wallet already, Sia is expecting you to introduce the seed of that wallet, not a different seed. There are commands for nuking the current wallet of the client and load a new one, and for sweeping the funds for an old wallet into the new one, but let us know first what have you done so far for providing better help

the improvements reported in november were only political, so far the siacoin has gone too far down. there may be a revocation of the repair.

I sounds like the last problem you mentioned coulb be the reason. I installed SIA at a new computer and wanted to import the seed maybee there was another wallet created before automatically? How to delete this?

Have you fixed your issue? If not - try to install latest version of Sia-UI, and restore the wallet by using seed phrase. I just did this myself and it was not too hard. Can remember if I had to google for how to do it, or if it was "intuitive" from Sia-UI

No problem! :-)

The best way probably is going to be deleting the current wallet. Go to the Terminal tab and type "wallet init-seed --force". It will ask you for your seed, and after scanning the blockchain for some minutes (or even one hour or so) it will be done and the client will be associated with that old seed.

It is better to have the client fully sync before doing this

You are comparing potatoes with oranges . The only common thing between SIA and VSYNC is that both are cryptocurrencies . So , i really don't get how did you come to the conclusion that VSYNC is better than SIA .
