I would like to add to this.
I have wrote 2 articles for Matthew and have not been paid, one of which is a double page spread on page 2 and 3 in #2.
He claims to not have the money, then goes and gambles away 80k.

Because he is mentally ill. He shouldn't have the ability to enter contracts.

What articles did you write for me? Are you talking about contributions you've made to Bitcoin Magazine for free? How is that "for me"? I think you're confused. I'm sure Vladimir who handles the budget for Bitcoin Magazine would be more than happy to straighten you out.

Why don't you email him at vladimir@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk . Also, please make sure to include any contracts for payments etc. Thanks!
I wrote because in skype you said that I would be paid later when the magazine was bringing in money..

So MNW is a pending scammer, even though the bet hasn't ended yet, and even if he loses he hasn't been given a chance to pay out? Isn't this all a bit premature? What happened to all of the MNW's secret backer threads? If he had a backer, Pirate, the government, his mom, whatever, wouldn't that give him a better chance of paying out?

Feel free to call him insane if you want, or even play in the bet countdown thread, but isn't calling him a scammer a bit extreme or at the very least premature? Either he wins, you all feel like asses, he loses and pays, and you all look like asses, or he loses and doesn't pay and you are right. I don't think this thread should have been made at least until tomorrow.

Scammer.

Even a very literal interpretation of his contract does not support what he is claiming it does.  Anyone trying an "I tricked you in the fine print" scam actually does have to word the fine print correctly, and he didn't.

Now he lost his bet making weird excuses,

so if he won by any chance then he get to scoop 80000 BTC?
I wonder if Mat was going to take 20BTC from other if he still won from this prop bet.

All i have to say is that this is HUGE black eye for Bitcoin Magazine.. I'm sure that if he already isn't relieved of his "Editor-in Chief" title with them, I would be very surprised.

I, for one, will not subscribe to the Bitcoin Magazine until this mess is taken care of or that Bitcoin Magazine comes out and lets us know that he has nothing to do with the Magazine any longer.. Sorry Matthew, you made your own bed on this one...

Mainly because I was going to use my winnings that I bet with Matthew to subscribe to the Magazine, lol..

I do realize that Bitcoin Magazine did not condone this bet. But, it's still a black eye, nonetheless...

So if I were to place another ad with Bitcoin Magazine I presume it would look bad for my company.  I had an ad in issue 1.

I will make it my mission to avoid anyone supporting that magazine.  That includes advertisers.

This is the probably the most blatant large-scale scam I have seen here to date.
Are you forgetting pirate already?
