I just call Bitcoin the Future of Money. It works in my opinion. Calling it Internet money or something like that makes it sound like Monopoly money in some peoples' ears. The OP's suggestion is definitely very crowd specific, as a general definition that is horrible but in some circles it might be very good.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

But bitcoin is not laissez-faire... it is a Free Market currency.

Laissez-faire is classical liberalism which still had central authority via a central State. Bitcoin is P2P so it is a Free Market currency.

There is no one definition of the term.  It comes from the French for allow to act.

A common definition of it is: the practice or doctrine of noninterference in the affairs of others, especially with reference to individual conduct or freedom of action.

Whether one wants to see that as some kind of centralized State control is a separate matter which does not change the actual meaning of the term.
Anarchists use the term all the time and most of them most definitely are not in favor of any kind of State control of anything.

Bitcoin
It's Laissez-Fair

Good slogan?  Sorry couldn't help myself Wink

No. Bad slogan.

Bitcoin
It's Laissez-Faire

Much better.

It's much better with the pun that Erik intended.
"Laissez-fair" is a great libertarian slogan.

For Paymium, my associates and I went for a more politically neutral slogan: "money over IP"

MOIP is to VOIP

Money Internet is a more accurate name.
