Wallets will have no connections during the course of the upgrade

I have over 300 xbc in my wallet but my balance is showing 0 for some reason? How do I get my balance back??

erm..how did you manage to lose them exactly?Did you spend them??

How could I spend them when the wallet is down and I was looking for an answer not another question. Are you not supposed to be solving the problem instead? Huh

I meant did you try to spend them but anyway my question is how exactly did this happen.Did you uninstall the wallet without backing up first(I noticed one of your earlier posts on the forum)or did you send them anywhere from the wallet? These are all valid questions btw.You can use your private key if you have it to get your balance back for the address it was "lost from" when the chain starts moving again or you may have forgotten to put in your back up if you reinstalled a new wallet. It does not automatically back up because a new wallet would have a new address by default.

And actually I am not supposed to be doing anything because we dont get paid to do anything and you have more xbc than I do by the way and most of mine are in limbo also until things are sorted out.Any further questions just ask or pm me  Smiley

yes i installed a new wallet and put in the correct backed up .dat file but didnt spend anything because the OP tells us not to until the upgrade is complete so I dont know what to do about it now.I have the private key but dont want to use it until the blockchain is correct etc.Does anyone know what else may be the problem?

My guess then is that you renamed your backup something else when you saved it like "xbcwallet" or something other than wallet and when you inserted it into your executables it wasnt recognised or the default blank wallet took over due to it still being named wallet while backup has some other name.

Reopen your executables by searching for roaming>appdata>bitcoinplus and open the database and see if there are 2 wallets by checking if the backup maybe has some prefix or other extended name and if you think that is the case remove the one from there to a safe place outside the database and rename the one you think is the backup to just  wallet and close it up and open up your wallet-qt and see if that solves the problem but back up your current wallet before doing this also. Also check your receiving addresses on your new wallet to see if it corresponds with your old address first and if it doesnt it means the backup is not active anyway.

My bad!I looked at the address and you were right because the address is not the same as what I have been send ing to from poloniex and my wallet was indeed inserted as xbcwallet so when I renamed that one to wallet and removed the other it showed correct balance.THANK YOU!!

Is there any way to set the transaction fees to a percentage like 0.1-0.5%, to ensure staking/mining remains profitable without coin supply inflation?

Yes default transaction fee makes very little sense the way it is and is way too low to be of any help to the network especially with low transactions taking place and it would make huge sense to have it work as a percentage of the whole transaction but that would have to be by consensus maybe unless we have no objections and it is possible technical wise.

I was mulling over that idea about transaction fee settings but only know of one other coin that claims to have successfully implemented fees as a percentage of the transaction.Maybe their template could be looked at later and it is a practical idea since staked coins are minted/mined from transaction fees.

That wouldn't be easy to implement and I think freshcoin was the only one to claim to do it but not 100%.
