I think looking at voting that XBC will be listed on coinpayments shortly unless I am mistaken but this will be a good idea of XBC anyway.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I noticed that on the official site under the Sustainability plan there is a link to a Google docs spreadsheet that outlines a fund theoretically staking at Poloniex and various things about that. The spreadsheet has not been updated since 3/11/2016 when I load it. Is that still something that is active? I like the way the development team has been running this coin a lot and think it has a lot of potential, but this is just an area on the site I think should be updated (or deleted if appropriate) to reflect the current situation. As it is, it raises question marks on an otherwise very good site.

The spreadsheet is updated after each staking payout.Usually this happens once every 2 months.

Yes a lot of behind the scenes work has taken place over the course of time including rebuilding the official website and trying out various features. The website is however just one point off access to XBC news and twitter and our thread here are also available along with a facebook page.

We are working on our latest update to the site at the moment to provide better security as was requested/suggested by a community member earlier showing that we are always listening to people who care about XBC and its future.Updates to nodes and various other parts of the network are always being tested and implemented according to requirements.

A lot of work takes place quietly in the background.

Copied from the XBC Blog - http://www.bitcoinplus.org/content/xbc_update_15122016.php

Its been nearly a year since I joined the XBC Team. In that time I have always seen myself as the one working behind the scenes keeping things ticking along. However as a hobbyist coder myself it was only recently that I started to look through the XBC Source code. A couple of things jumped out at me.

  • Inflation Rate is set at 20%
  • Maximum Coin Total is set at 1,000,000 (1Million) Coins

Since that time I’ve been in touch with Mammix (Wallet Developer) in order to establish when the 20% inflation rate was added to the source code as I have always been under the impression it was 10%. Going back through the Github it appears the 20% variable was committed on 31/03/2015. This was because the code concerned was in part cloned from a previous source code.

I then asked for all the specifications of XBC to be audited once more and can confirm the current Wallet specs are the following (Source Code - https://github.com/bitcoinplusorg/xbcwalletsource)

  • POW Algorithm = X13
  • POW Reward = Zero
  • POS Reward = 20% Annually. (Calculated per 365 days)
  • Minimum Stake age = 12 hours (Coins must be in the wallet for 12 hours before being eligible for Staking).
  • Coin Reward maturity = 110 blocks
  • Total Max Coin supply = 1,000,000 (After which no NEW coins are rewarded. Currently rewards are made up of NEW coins and transaction fees. Once 1,000,000 coins is reached all rewards will come from transaction fees only).
  • Block Time = 60 Seconds
  • Staked Coins Confirmation = 110 (Once newly created coins have reached 110 block confirmations they will become spendable)

Coin Specifications have been fully updated at - http://www.bitcoinplus.org/xbc_specifications.php. On the Coin Specifications page I have also added a table showing Approximate Total Coin Supply by Year (Inflation fixed at 20%).

XBC Community Roadmap

This now makes the XBC Roadmap page even more important. Does the community wish to change the inflation back to 10% ? Does the community wish to lower the inflation to even less. At the currrent rate of 20% total coin supply of 1 Million will be reached in approximately 14-15 years time. After that time all rewards will be made up of Recycled Transaction Fees Only.

I have added a few more options to the voting list at http://www.bitcoinplus.org/roadmap.php to reflect this.

Also I have had 1 person contacting us expressing concern at how the Voting has been set up as it is very easy to post fraudulent votes. No voting system will ever be 100% fair. Even if each vote required x amount of XBC it would still be open to corruption. Even if voting was restricted to 1 vote people can create multiple accounts with multiple IP address's. Therefore please see the Roadmap voting for what it is. A guide for us to gauge community feeling. We make no guarantees that what is voted number 1 will ever be implemented. Remember - the XBC wallet CAN NOT be updated without community concensus.

The more wallets staking ,the higher the hashrate. This is what secures the network. There is no point in keeping coins sitting idle on the exchange unless you are planning selling them.If you are holding you may as well stake and take advantage of this higher interest rate while it remains. This is a real incentive for those who hold XBC and at the same time helpful in securing the network.Win win for all parties.

We dont need to be listed on a third exchange right now.It doesnt get any better than poloniex and we also have a secondary exchange on cryptopia if anyone wants to trade there. No point in having a third exchange and nobody using it.Funds are tight and need to be allocated elsewhere.

The most practical thing for XBC is to be listed on coinpayments. It is the first question prospective merchants ask when they look at adopting a coin as a payment option. What is the whole point in a cryptocurrency if it has not utilitarian function?
