I so wish this coin was on more exchanges, always dread that Polo will delist it, happened a few times with dead coins.

Poloniex is probably the best cryptocurrency exchange in the business and XBC has a long history trading on poloniex.Poloniex delists coins due to a number of conditions.Simply having large daily volume doesn't guarantee you a listing on Poloniex.Poloniex unlike many greed driven exchanges greatly appreciate active technical development.

Does anyone know how much was raised during the ICO? Was there a cap, and was it reached?

this is one of the questions of the Binance Listing Application Form and i was wondering for myself too out of curiosity.

Nothing was raised through an ICO.Some community members took over the coin after it was abandoned and funded development themselves.Coin holders were given free coins on a 1:1 swap basis for the newly developed coin on a whole new chain.

How were the original coins distributed? though an ICO?

The old XBC that was abandoned was distributed on Poloniex back in 2014.It probably was some form of ICO but the developer put nothing into the coin and abandoned any of us who bought coins. Some others then stepped in and ran it for a while until they decided to call it a day and we were left without anyone to take over. That's when the old coin/chain stalled. Its all on the website history part.

Another opportunity to explore:

http://barterdex.supernet.org/

"Barterdex is operational with dozens of coins already integrated.  Tell us about your project, and we will work with you to get your coin listed. The closer your coin is to a bitcoin-code base, the easier it will be to list.
For most of the coins there´s no code to write."

Will look into it.Do you have a direct email? There is only a contact form on the website and there is no encryption on that site unfortunately.

Alright, so this coin has a pretty long history already. Is there a big userbase still that supports the coin? As this thread got 200+ it seems like it. I see that XBC is traded on poloniex, that is certainly something not many currencies nowadays can achieve. But trading volume is not that big and trades are mostly done through poloniex like 95% or something like that. Im interested, but not sure yet. Can somebody give some advice if this is a good investment or not, when entering now?

Once we have the current development completed we will coincide that with some announcements through the usual channels. We already had banner adverts on coinmarketcap and articles on some outlets inc cointelegraph a while back but they didn't yield the expected results. We need to focus on having development completed before we start another media campaign.

I don't find any email on their official links.  Apparently, the devs of this exchange want to stay anonymous. But there must be a way to contact them apart from the contact form I presume.

Looking at their twitter page, it looks like atomic swaps are already working and functional on their platform. I don't have time to look more into this right now but these links could be useful to learn more about the project:

https://twitter.com/SuperNETorg

The whitepaper is available here:
https://komodo.ocloud.de/index.php/s/lwdiBny0IkH3vxa#pdfviewer

"A Decentralized, Open-Source Cryptocurrency Exchange, Powered by Atomic-Swap Technology
Created by The Komodo Organization"

Abstract
The BarterDEX allows people to trade cryptocurrency coins without a counterparty risk.
The protocol is open-source and trading is available for any coin that any developers choose to connect to The BarterDEX.
The parent project, Komodo, freely provides BarterDEX technology through open-source philosophy. Our service fully realizes decentralized order matching, trade clearing, and settlement. The order-matching aspect uses a low-level pubkey-to-pubkey messaging protocol, and the final settlement is executed through an atomic cross-chain protocol. Like any exchange, our decentralized alternative requires liquidity, and we provide methods and incentives therein.
