how's the XBC team doing these days? it looks like lots of things haven't been updated in a while, good to see the website back online.

We are doing fine thanks.Actually there have been many updates/commits to our source code with work still ongoing on a private repo.Take a look at all the branches.

Ah I did not look at that, I was looking at Twitter and the telegram channel and the payout spreadsheet from Polo. I will check out the Github, thank you.

We are working on main.cpp now.All current activity is on a private repo until everything is completed and tested before pushing to the public repo but if you look at all the branches on github you will see there have been many changes to the codebase already.

Will the current wallet still work after segwit activates or do we need to upgrade?Obviously the current wallet will not be able to use segwit but will it work for transactions etc?

Thanks.

There are some concerns with older clients not being able to send tx's due to it working on 0.07 older codebase version. If it was 0.08 it would probably be fine but we may have to have a mandatory update if testing proves this to be the case where all users would have to use the newer version even if they just want to use older version for tx'x but if this is the case all the features we have right now will eventually be worked into the newer clients anyway when we get around to it.Right now the main concern is getting us up to the point of signalling for segwit and we are at 0.13 now but there are a range of issues with the messaging feature now so we may go with a plain vanilla client in order to get segwit done and then add the extras after including native Tor and optional messaging. We will only know this for certain after things are running on testnet for a while to make sure staking and tx's are not adversely affected after release into the wild. This is our priority and the optional extras are secondary to those.

Old project was abandoned back in 2015 so there was a 1:1 swap for anyone with coins on the old chain.

Don't think I can claim it now as I missed the window. Funnily the balance shows as 9.23 in the new chain (and 923 in old) coins but conflicted...

It isn't a fork.Did you not read the the comments earlier? The old coin died and people with coins on the dead chain were given new free coins when a new project was started or something to that effect. It's not a fork from bitcoin chain.

I'm very sorry for you, but on which planet have you been?

I mined a lot of shit coins in 2014 when Asic's made it impossible for Bitcoin mining, this was one of them Smiley as you can from my profile, I've been here a while; just not a very active member.

I was due to scrub an old laptop I (re)found in the cupboard before I trashed it and found my old (non BTC) wallets. There was a couple of hundred quid worth of (still) valid coins (guncoin, asiacoin, vericoin) and what looked like a fortune in XBC when I checked the price on polonex. The chain wouldn't sync when I left on the client overnight, so I downloaded the latest build the next day and when that finally synced but showed a lesser balance of 9.23 (but conflicted). At that point I knew something was up and started catching up on the BCT forums.

I made significant gains on my BTC since 2013-14 so I guess if anything that overshadowed the other coins I had stored away. If anything this has got me back into crypto-mining and a these forums, so not a total loss I guess.
