That my hashing power is nothing compared to most everyone's.
Currently getting 33.4 MH/s off my HD 4670, and it's the best graphics card in my house.
It seems I'll be scraping the bottom of the barrel for awhile.

The problem is that you're visiting the MINING sub-forum, where all the miners go. Obviously, those who are really into it are generally going to buy good hardware for the task, etc. In other words, you have the best of the best frequenting this forum. This isn't like playing basketball in your neighborhood, it's like hanging around NBA teams. Of course you're going to feel below average. Most people don't even know about bitcoin, nevermind mining. You're making more than any of them  I've been interested in Distributed Computing since 2006 or so. Unfortunately, there was never any program that paid ANYTHING -- until now. |

Well, my old 4850 only got 70Mh/s. I have bought a 5850 that runs at 345Mh/s clocked now however... |

My 4870 got 90 MH/s, which was costing me more in electricity to run than I was generating from BTC, so I bought 3 x 5870.

Correct, you are contributing a very minimal amount to the mining community. If I were you I would just stop, because the profit is too low.
I'm currently mining at 630 MH/s.

Mining with that old of hardware is probably not going to net you any actual profits...you need to factor in your power consumption.

Power consumption in minimal, I've lowered my voltage quite a bit. Also, at the moment, I'm splitting my electricity bill with 4 other people, so my profit is pretty alright. I fully plan on upgrading at some point, but my current income is pretty low. |

I started a similar card. Even with difficulty low in Feb I found nothing (solo) until I went to my first 5830. |

I started with my 4850 too, it was doing 75 Mhash/s and the increase in power consumption was only 60W since it was a 24/7 PC so it was well worth mining. I've just made quite an investment into 2 5850 and 2 5970 building another dedicated machine. Now I'm doing around (350 x 6 + 70) 2.2 Ghash/s but it's gonna take awhile to breakeven (if ever, hopefully). Well, if this doesn't work out I'll just take the 5970, treat it as a hell of an upgrade for myself and another 2x5850xfire for my brother. Don't overcommit yet. Any money earned is good money And for small fries like us, join a pool haha |

I started out on a 4850 months ago, but only ran it for a couple days. It was prone to overheating, and having the fan screaming at 100% was not my cup of tea. When I took a second look at Bitcoin about a month ago, I had just built my new computer with a 6950. That quickly grew to two unlocked 6950s, and a second rig with a 5830 and the original 4850 offsite. Thankfully I've broken even, but I understand your pain.
Really? Mine has had no problem staying cool. Albeit my case is covered in fans, the fan rarely turns on, if ever, and generally stays at about 74 celsius. I'm about to starting teaching a few people how to play instruments, so i'll be having enough money coming in to get a better MOBO (like one with more than one PCI-E x16), and then better cards. Best part is, this is all stuff I was planning on doing before I found Bitcoin. |

Exact same case as Kain  I was planning on upgrading my 6-yr old PC (1 PCIe too hahaha) anyway since my friend is dragging me into SCII, my 4850 is also doing ok @ 75 C in a case with no Fan and @ where I'm at it's 30 C all year round. I'm ok with the Fan noise though. |

I'm ok with the Fan noise though. Mine's not that old, I just didn't really think I'd ever need more than one card in the foreseeable future. Sadly, I was wrong. I also got this card when I built the computer because it was cheap, yet good enough to run SCII  |
