And finally now, when we google "Bitcoin". The result would be a list of ad sites And then after the ads, it would be bitcoin.org.

Google products, then ad sites, then search results. I regret the old AltaVista sometimes...

when googled Bitcoin i did not got coindesk at the top as i think google shows different result on location base and i have bitcoin.org as top site.

I'd say maybe because of the number of the unique visitors in a certain period of time .
Coindesk.com is 8,968 Ranked if you see at Alexa ranking , and on the other hand there is Bitcoin.org is 17,108 in the Global Rank . so I guess that's the reason , even if I'am not sure how Google Algorithms works exactly for searching

In the past, when we Google Bitcoin the results would be Bitcoin.org with no other additional material. Sometime this or last year, I noticed that Google add in a 'box' which fetch text from Bitcoin.org. Those text explain what is Bitcoin. Just last month or so, Google switched the site to Coindesk.com. I wonder why. Anyone have an answer? I feel that Bitcoin.org explanation is simple and easy to understand. Coindesk.com explanation is long and not easy to understand. Which one do you prefer?

Do you guys realise that you can have different result from google search? It is true, google is personalized to certain extent and you can have different first page that somebody else - searches are based on your location, language preferences, previous searches and so on. For me coindesk is not even showing in top 5 links, instead it is like 10th link or something.

After brining this up , I checked and I guess you are right . It's the same for me, Coindesk isn't even showing on the first page . wierd tho because I read a lot of articles on Coindesk .

There're 3 ways for Google to show the website's short explanation on search results;

1- If the website has a meta description shows it

2- If it doesn't then checks it from dmoz.org
http://www.dmoz.org/search?q=bitcoin.org If the meta description wasn't existed then it probably uses this one;
"Official site offering documentation, forums and the open source client software which permits to send and receive bitcoins. "

3- If none of those exists then it uses the indexed home page's first lines as short description.

Google searches are personalized. The page you get in one computer when you search Google is not the same page you get on another computer. That is to say, the search results vary based on the computer you use (if you do not login). You can verify this by doing the same search query on different locations in the area.

didn't know about that, but i did not personalize anything, it coul be because of the login, if i log out, it would re-index something different, or you are saying that it is just based on ip and nothing else?

It helps to give better search results.  Given a query, good results for one person may not be good results for another person.
I don't know exactly all the details of that algorithm. If you try it on different computers you can see the results.

The meta tags don't matter much these days. It used to back in the days (I guess) but now, no.

keywords work on placement on page as well as relevance. Also, if you are enrolled in the google adsense program, showing adsense ads on your site and sharing revenue, you can target certain keywords in the adsense settings, "bitcoin" being probably the most obvious choice in this case. Then you need to have the targeted word appear throughout the page. There is no number of times, minimum or maximum, recommended, but it is said that having your targeted keywords appearing in the first and last paragraphs and several times in the body of the article is most effective. There is also talk that certain areas of the page design get optimal results too.

This works for whatever keywords you might be trying to target as a webmaster with adsense enabled. it is all algorithms, logic and science, but it makes money and tons of sites are all over it. Unfortunately, it is also why an earnest search for simple information often leads to hundreds of links to empty, information-less, puppet articles that serve little other purpose than to attract traffic and ad revenue. There is no algorithm for QUALITY.

even crap keywords can make money, if you have targeted those keywords and used them in proper context within good quality original content, optimized your SEO and have good "click-through-rate" meaning, people actually click the ads on your site after searching Google for your targeted keywords.

but, yeah, clicks from estonia are worth about 2 cents max. You also want to "geo-target" meaning reach the American market. Those clicks are golden.

I used to write a blog that targeted Insurance, Mortgage, Attorney, Lawyer, and Degree. It wasnt really about any of those things, just used the words extensively within the context of a serialized work of fiction. I literally had a paper with my keywords on it and I would write goofy stories using those words as much as possible. I made pretty good money before google got wise and b& me
