private keys + listaddressgroupings

Hi guys,

I have a question about an alternative backup or cold storage method:

Is it correct that the command "listaddressgroupings" lists all bitcoin addresses that have UTXO in the wallet?

When I perform a "dumpprivkey" for each address that's listed after doing "listaddressgroupings", can I use that privkey as a back-up? (e.g. write it down on a note and put it in a safe). And delete without any risk the wallet itself? I suppose yes...

ps: I know I can export a wallet backup too but I'm looking for several backup possibilities.

If you aren't going to use the wallet at all, and you are just looking for a way to archive the private keys that have been used in the past, then this method is fine.

Be aware, however, that everytime you send a transaction from the wallet, it will move bitcoins to a new address that is NOT in your archive.

I didn't get you. You mean change address? If yes, isn't change address(es) shown when running listaddressgroupings?

I think I get it and it's logical of course. After that so called backup (of private keys) the wallet (if still active) also contains all keys and can make TXs.

Change addresses that have been used in the past?  Yes.

Change addresses that will be used in the future?  I don't think so.

Change addresses that will be used in the future?  I don't think so.

Thank you! Got it. After he deletes wallet.dat and open core, a new wallet will be created. It is unlikely to delete newly created wallet.dat file but I understand what you said. It is indeed logical.
