Put 20% down on a house.  Turn it into a rental.

Or buy tobacco & alcohol stocks.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Are the people mentioning Litecoin insane or just bagholders? I could not think of a worse investment (unless you're shorting).

Stick to BTC and if you have to choose an alt, go with NXT. Amazing development and community.

Historically speaking, Litecoin has tended to follow Bitcoin's price trajectory but in a much more exaggerated manner (actually this is true for most altcoins too). When Bitcoin went from $13 to $1,200 in 2013 (i.e. a 100x difference), Litecoin went from $0.07 to $48 in the same period (i.e. a 700x difference). When Bitcoin went from $900 to $300 in 2014 (i.e. a 66% drop in value), Litecoin went from $20 to $2 (i.e. a 90% drop in value).

Of course, there is no guarantee that history will repeat itself, and it's possible that LTC prices will continue to fall despite a rising BTC price (Certainly the altcoin market is a lot more competitive now vs. 2011-2013 and the introduction of scrypt ASICs has eliminated one of Litecoin's main benefits over Bitcoin).

I myself dont believe that Litecoin will grow up again to 10$ and more like it was on 2014. And that the Bitcoin grow up again to 1000$+ beacause there made to much mistakes and betrayal of trust to much steal of coins scam and stuff. I think the people have fear to invest beacause what you do with BTC ore LTC you just trading there are no other use i think by only 21 milion coins to get this under people. And people are skeptical to invest after this bashing from media bad headlines. I think this crypto currency will come but not with bitcoin or other altcoins. Maybe with a new edition and officially from Banks with big support.

NXT and Litecoin do have a few things in common, believe it or not, especially when it came to CoinBase.

Both NXT and Litecoin were showing signs of decline until (incorrect) rumors of them being added to CoinBase.  Charlie Lee took an actual job at CoinBase and many alleged that meant Litecoin would soon be added.  NXT had this guy called John Manglaviti who went around marketing and even made speeches stating CoinBase would soon add NXT.

Fast forward, today - obviously - we know that neither LiteCoin or NXT were never added to CoinBase and CoinBase's position is 100% Bitcoin.  Both Litecoin and NXT have since, albeit slowly, been dropping in capitalization.

This comes to an uncomfortable truth - both Litecoin and NXT's big rebounds, back in the day, were arguably the result of rumor (in NXT's case more deceit as John was clearly just making stuff up).   Past performance of those two coins, especially when people were speculating on rumor, shouldn't be taken as indication that either coin will ever succeed or take off again.

So yes you can physically throw $30,000 at either coin but this post should serve as warning that, outside of the 2013 pump, both LTC and NXT's later rebounds were the result of (incorrect) rumors.  Nobody is really sending Litecoin or NXT up anytime soon.

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution.  The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

Decide on the features you value in a cryptosystem and then research the coins that fit those parameters. How you want to divvy the investment holdings depends more on you than the coin(s) you are investing or trading.

to add to this.  after litecoin did not change to prevent scypt asics i have written it off as a never rebound coin.

i would not invest the $30,000 in cryptocurrency since the risk is high. i have other investment plans in mind that will return more profit for that amount of cash.
for crypto markets i only invest small amount and play around with that.

what coins?
mainly bitcoin, especially if i see a decline in price, i would jump in.
and the rest i never invest long term in any altcoin, no matter what the name is. i invest in coins that i feel they have potential to give me profit.

Put it into Bitcoin and hold. Any altcoin investments are risky. You need to research them before going in. As for next I would suggest you stay away from that. The distribution of coins is poor.

https://nxtblocks.info/#section/blockexplorer_distribution - 2487 Next addresses hold 98.77% of all coins

https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-litecoin-addresses.html - 15076 Litecoin addresses hold 95% of all coins

http://bitcoinrichlist.com/charts/bitcoin-distribution-by-address?atblock=350000 - 123083 Bitcoin addresses hold 97% of all coins

Mintcoin. The mintings would be huge and worth a lot.

Stop Mining.   Start Minting.   Mintcoin  [MINT]
5% annual minting reward. Mintcoins don't wear out like mining gear. They keep on minting!

Not sure if that is very usefull, in bitcoin and ltc, there are change adresses, your coins shift from one address to another even withouth most users notice about, for example, you send 0.5BTC and have 4 BTC -> there is an aoutpu of 1BTC from which 0.5BTC goes to your target and 0.5 back to another change address which you have the keys, now you have 3BTC address and 0.5BTC address
This makes the number of used accounts in BTC and clones increasse very easy

And about what to do with that 30k, don't ask here, is the best thing I can say... do your own research and don't get biased by any of the 98% trolls here

If you have 30'000$ Cash in which coines you would invest ? Or which coins you would buy ?

Regards

If i would have $30.000 cash i would probably buy some Bitcoins. So far as soon as i get them i fast get tempted to buy Moneros. I cant help myself since always looks so cheap.  Roll Eyes

15k BTC
5k NXT
+(2k Assets on NXT)
5k ETH
1k NEM
1k XCR
+
1k ($100 dollars into every coin that passes 10 million in Market Cap which I don't currently own)

HOLD EVERYTHING until 2025+

@ 10 million marketcap, if you buy at that level and the coin wins out and goes to 100 billion... you make +/-10,000x.
