die sendung ist von 1999 und trägt den titel: "Wie komme ich ins Internet?".
das bedeutet, dass die meisten noch keinen blassen schimmer hatten und nicht im netz waren.

gleichzeitig platz ca 1 jahr später die dot-com bubble. (was jedoch nur der startschuss war...)

was mich zu der annahme führt, dass die Amis hier (wieder einmal) ein jahrzehnt vor deutschland waren.

und momentan wiederholt sich die geschichte...

In diesem Fall gab's fünf Jahre vorher wirklich noch kein "Internet" (HTTP) für Privatnutzer, siehe hier (a.d.J. 1994):
