even with the nodes in the conf, I get 0 connections.

Is there anything I can do through the console to see what the problem is?
How do I check if it is actually trying to connect and failing?
What port should be open in those nodes so I can check for connectivity?

We are working on getting some seed nodes up and configured in linux wallet.

I had connection to the GLOBE network yesterday for a good number of hours but then lost it.
So please keep your wallets open 24/7 till we get this resolved.
This is why we need to upgrade GLOBE to a newer wallet.
Soon as KORE is released we will do this.

I have 3 connections now. Wallet has been staking like crazy to make up for 3 days of lost time  Grin

The wallet update can't come soon enough. It's great to see globe getting some dev attention.

A good number of GLOBE supporters have connections now and/or are staking.

Agreed, the new wallet cant come soon enough but our first priority is KORE.
Actually there is tons that cant come soon enough.
I can assure you the KORE Development Team is aware and working diligently
to get us all what we need and what is promised.

How's it looking for the update?
It will be 90 days in about a month from now since the announcement here about a new wallet

The update is tied to the release of the new KORE wallet.
We will be able to release the KORE wallet hopefully by the last day this month or if delayed within the first two weeks of April.

This might delay the GLOBE wallet by a few weeks is all...

GLOBE Linux wallet build commands:

Matrix put together a series of commands to assist you in compiling a Linux GLOBE wallet.
This is to further assist the community to run GLOBE wallets to support the chain till the new wallet is released in a few months.
I'm running a GLOBE wallet on Linux Mint and have over twice the amount of connections than my Windows  wallet.
For some reason my windows machine seems to limit the number of wallet connections.

sudo apt-get install -y git build-essential libssl-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libqrencode-dev miniupnpc libminiupnpc-dev qt5-default qt5-qmake qtbase5-dev-tools qttools5-dev-tools  build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev  libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev  qtscript5-dev qtscript-tools  libqt5webkit5 libqt5webkit5-dev libqt5webkit5-qmlwebkitplugin

git clone https://github.com/mammix2/global-master/ globe

cd globe/src

chmod 755 leveldb/build_detect_platform

cd leveldb/

make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a

cd ../..

qmake

make

I'll try to make one for a linux machine I have running other wallets.
Do we need to open a particular port on the firewall to help with connections?

Appreciate you supporting GLOBE!

No that should not be an issue.
If you have any problems please post them in the GLOBE discord support thread if you can.

The update never came.
Kore, which is their main focus still has problems and bittrex is delisting it.

I guess globe will be put permanently on ice.

Not permanently.
We discussed some platform additions the other day Matrix will add to GLOBE.
Keep staking.
