Question: Before PoA, do we need merged mining?
Merged mining is a good idea
We do not need merged mining
We need only PoA
We need both merged mining and PoA

Cool dNote , let Us have Recurring Sending from our Wallet with Time & Date intervals .

Let's have this not only for Available Balances but also as an programmable function for Locked XDN's …/*
Such a feature is very useful in the real world economics to pay regularly or upon deadline expiration  Roll Eyes

Thanks Dev for the awesome deposit feature.  One suggestion, rather than having to enter the deposit time in number of blocks, change it to number of months.  I know, I know..  I can just take the number of months I want and times it by 11,000, but hey, I'm lazy. Wink

edit: ok looking back through thread it seems new GUI wallet lets you import keys from old wallet. ? work from Ducknote vs DarkNote

Yes duckN… to DarkN… to DigitalNote migration works , usually no problem … just import keys , maybe you need to backup your keys in duckNote first , I'd recommend ; I had no duckNote Wallet only DarkNote … no trouble
Please , let Us know here if … ; someone is always available to advise or help you out with the process

i have only darknote.addressbook and darknote.wallet file in my previous version of wallet ... i couldnt find the key files ... please tell me the full process plz ...

in old darknote GUI you have an option for backup and export your private keys with plain text. After export, just import keys in new DigitalNote wallet in File menu tab.

Here is the logic:

.keys file or just an exported private keys in plain text are your keys from your "digitalnote account".
.wallet is a file that contains your private keys + a history of your in and out transactions and .wallet file binary compatibility between different XDN wallets may differ.

You private key  is a low level solution to store your XDN. Most secure and private. You can keep it in your brain with no physical presence.

Your private keys are unique and ANY ducknote, darknote or digitalnote private key will work with DigitalNote XDN.

All you need is a .keys file. Just open your .keys file with the new DigitalNote wallet File->Open Wallet , like you make it with your .wallet file.

Another way of migration is to import your exported plain text private key with File->Import private key

Remember you can keep your private key from XDN DigitalNote "blockchain account" just in your brain.

Stay tuned.

With deposits and blockchain banking we should be as accurate as we can, the unit of time in XDN Universe is a 4 minute average block.

But 4 minute is an average time, and nobody knows for sure how many blocks will be mined in one month.

So we should express time in blocks to be accurate as we should. But user can view an estimated time of deposit expiration and other information about deposit with double click on it in DigitalNote GUI wallet.

Thank you.

There's an option for it when you launch duck/dark/digitalnoted, I think
Code:
-data-dir c:\wherever\you\want
You can check by running it from the command line with the -help flag. I'm not sure about Qt, but I assume there's a similar option, and you can find it by launching with -help option.

Interesting developments being made here. What will proof-of-activity involve?

Deposits and Proof-of-activity (PoA)

Deposit is a new CryptoNote instance. With deposits we can implement a very useful element of crypto security, called Proof-of-activity. It is a variant of hybrid PoW/PoS process. DigitalNote is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency, even now, and deposits are implemented on the top of pow blockchain. We are working on proof-of-activity implementation on the top of deposits, to make XDN the most secure crypto.

Is there some formal definition of "Proof-of-activity" available somewhere? (eg, a whitepaper)

Thanks. A question regarding "PoW difficulty is adjusted to the current fraction of on-line holders, so the blockchain grows evenly":
How do you measure the fraction of on-line holders?

In general we can not measure it. Like a pow difficulty - we do not know the "real" hashrate, but we can compare it with the current difficulty. And difficulty is going up/down depending on real block time intervals.

If it's the security warning, you'll need to visit this page in your System Preferences.

Otherwise, I'd remove the wallet and re-download it.

When you download from the internet you cannot open any app right away by double clicking ,
you need to bring up the contextual menu on the item , and then , select open , and confirm …

For security reasons this feature is built-in systemwide — to add a layer of protection to OSX .
