Question: Before PoA, do we need merged mining?
Merged mining is a good idea
We do not need merged mining
We need only PoA
We need both merged mining and PoA

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Of course.
Reddit is just a place for communities to talk and share ideas.
I'm aware of steemit but i just feel it is unsustainable, to give an example the investors have so much more importance than anyone else.
Just my two cents.  Smiley

Hi, someone on the reddit community asked these questions:

are all the messages part of the blockchain?
how much does it contribute to blockchain's size growing?
is there an option to have a payment gateway for an online service?
There is at least couple of cryptonote based coins, some with quite nice features as well. How hard is it to "mix & match" coins?
is it possible to get meaningful data from an XDN based e-commerce (ie: using Pwik)?

Could one of the more technically knowledgable people here answer these questions?

.

With regards to the messages:

  • Messages are included in the blockchain unless the self destruct timer is used.
  • Each character takes exactly 8 bits to be stored in, that's 1 byte (B). so 1 MB = 1024KB and 1 KB = 1024B so 1 MB has 1024 x 1024 = 1,048,576 bytes, that's 1,048,576 characters, that includes letters, spaces, symbols... etc.
With an sms, you can send a message of up to 160 characters to another device or another mobile phone. Depending on which alphabet the subscriber has configured in the handset, this leads to the maximum individual short message sizes of 160 7-bit characters,140 8-bit characters, or 70 16-bit characters.
Let's say the average DigitalNote message is 80 characters... This allows over 13,000 messages in one MB! There is plenty time to decide when and if some sort of pruning or blockchain storage should be done.
Currently the blockchain is only about 1Gb in over two years! By default, I think messages should be sent instantly and off blockchain using the self destruction option instead of the other way around. Things like contracts can be set to be included on chain.

I know we don't see any XDN devs around too often but dNote and Team are very hard at work with more pressing development priorities like PoA development to make XDN the most secure coin ever. There will be boat loads of fiat $ moving into all forms of cryptocurrency this Fall.
Eventually, there will be full and light nodes just like in Bitcoin.

Infrastructure will be sorted out by evolution.

I'm just a miner and user of DigitalNote however hope this helps with some of your questions. I will look into the others.

Appreciated kkraus69. We have broken our resistance point of 20 satoshis because of new members recently.

Does anyone have an idea of how one would go about making a website in which digital note could be integrated as payment? In other words, are there any payment processors for digital note?

Something like litepaid.com (https://litepaid.com/coins to see coin supported) or https://www.coinpayments.net would be great.

The problem is I don't know how to get the coin onto lite paid.com.
I've messaged them about this.

The problem with coinpayments.net is that it requires "votes" to support a coin. You need to pay to vote, so to support DigitalNote we would need 1 Btc of donations!

I'd guess just riding the coat tails of Monero uber pump. Aeon is up quite a bit too.

I'm currently in the process of agreeing a deal which would give us a tipbot on reddit.
He is offering a quote of 0..25 btc.
Do you think it is practical to crowdfund this?

Sadly even though the volume of XDN has doubled, the price actually has changed!

How long does he promise to keep it running for that much?
