Speaking of which, I have thought about the same thing. Maybe it is because Tether has a better marketing strategy, as well as being an Omni asset based on the Bitcoin protocol. I have noticed that fiat value maintains stable over the days (when compared to other fiat pegged assets like Nubits) So until now, it will have a guaranteed price of $1 per Tether. But still, BitUSD is a lot better than Tether due to the fact that it is exchangeable from within a decentralized exchange, and you can also earn interest based on your holdings (not sure if this applies to Bitshares 2.0) All Bitshares needs is a better marketing strategy to attract financial institutions and business into using it since it is a very advanced platform. The way is see Bitshares is like the NASDAQ of blockchain. Just my opinion.

Agree. It was hard enough to keep up with shit when it was just protoshares and angelshares, but when they went to 2.0 and had splits and mergers and buyouts and whatever else with play and vote and whatever else it just became so convoluted that I assumed bad faith and scamming through dilution to separate entities controlled by the same people. I still hold like 30k bts cause I'm too lazy to sell them, but it seems like the same group of scam by convoluted dilution folks have moved on to steem a new convoluted scheme to separate fools from their btc.

Thanks for feedback, Yes in the system we have the power of vote n commitee....so things really can change sometimes but I believe the target is improve liquidity n make smartcoins widely used, actually dex volume is increasing but slowly, potential is great n avoid huge changes bring confidence too, so I agree.

That is certainly true. As DEX volume increases slowly, more people will realize the benefits on trading in decentralized exchanges and we will soon see more liquidity in them. Among the DEX that are available, OpenLedger seems one of the best decentralized exchanges to me and it will only be a matter of time before people realize that it is not safe to use centralized exchanges like Poloniex, and thus decide to move into the DEX. As exchanges become hacked (like Mt Gox, and lately Cryptsy) people will start looking for other alternatives and thus increase liquidity in OpenLedger.

Yeah I agree with you. Bitshares is unstoppable and it may prove to be the most advanced and fully featured financial platform among other cryptos. And I think that once smart contracts become a reality with BTS, it will make a complete system for the decentralized exchange of assets, dividends distribution, and many more with the power of dapps. There are so many things that will come up for BTS but I think that the first thing that needs to be done is better marketing of the coin in order to drive more interest into it and have a positive effect in price. Just my opinion.

Thanks for sharing these useful resources mate. It should keep us updated with the latest in BitShares and Steem. I think that the last one makes a nice addition to the BitShares platform. In order for BitShares to succeed, it just needs a good marketing strategy to drive business and companies into adopting the platform. Then, BTS would be considered as a solid decentralized financial platform for business and companies alike in which it will have a very nice effect in price. It just needs to drive interest into it and we'll see long term success. BTS would be a complete platform if it implements smart contracts. Just my opinion.

bit-currencies (eg bitusd) are a smart contract. a working one Well yeah it is kind of a smart contract, but I was only referring as to the development of dapps from within the BitShares platform. Then, it could rival Ethereum with its decentralized apps to prove which one is better and the most reliable. Seeing what happened with The DAO's smart contract code exploit, it could only mean that the ETH ecosystem has many flaws. BTS can be a better platform for decentralized apps and a full fledged financial platform with the ability to create assets, dividends distribution, delegates and more. Just my opinion.

There is no more interest rate in bitassets , but your bitUSD will always be worth at least 1 usd each. Steem dollars("backed" with STEEM) will offer interest rate and will be available on 4th on July, but I don't know in what exchanges they will trade(bittrex might be one of them) A 2 months old article about steem dollars... https://steemit.com/steem/@dantheman/introduction-to-steem-dollars-sbd

there's no more interest in bitshares 2.0 - at least for now. there are ideas to re-implement something similiar see https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,22696.0.html
