According to this Jewish columnist from the LA Times, the Jews control Hollywood and the news media, as well as the government and financial system.

We all already know this, but it is good to see a Jew stand up and admit it in a major newspaper.

And this news worries you for what reason?

It's not as if a Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, or atheist couldn't do just as well in any of those profession. If a lot of people that run these businesses are Jewish, is there any evidence that their common religion is driving them to keep others out of the market?

I seriously doubt it!

That's the beauty of America...if you want to run Hollywood you have the opportunity to try or aspire to do so. It'll never be easy but it'll never be impossible either. Additionally, this you-can-do-anything thinking doesn't apply only to Americans. Americans believe that reality exists for all people, regardless of citizenship, ethnicity, religion, gender, affinity to bitcoin, etc...

There is some truth in what they are saying. The United States is currently the best ally of Israel. There are 10 Jewish senators out of a total of 100. That means that their representation is almost 1,000% higher than their proportion in the population. For heaven's sake, there are far more Jewish senators than African-American senators (right now there is just one black senator), although the latter ethnic group outnumbers the former by a factor of 15.

Some of the comments relate to the Holocaust, and potentially an cultural need to be successful to prove one's self. The writer goes on to say that this is merely a hunch and maybe not a good one at that. He goes on to say that the stereotypes of Jews may be a self fulfilling prophecy. If people think a Jewish person is great at "XYZ" that people give them opportunities or seek them out to do "XYZ".

Who knows?

And the point about the lower representation of African Americans in congress compared to share of population is certainly concerning. Maybe it says something about the opportunities granted to one group of people over another based on where they grow up could have something to play...or even stereotypes.

It's definitely an interesting thing to think about. And perhaps this is why the OP decided to post the article to begin with.

Add in the minority vote, and in most cases they have enough support to win the elections. Take the state of California for example. The state has returned no non-Jewish senators for the last 20 years or so, despite Jews comprising only around 2% of the population.

You know, there's definitely something wrong around here.   Because every gas station I go to has got Pakistanis behind the counter.  Now who said they should own and operate all the Stop and Gos?
