Anyone else getting "IP temporarily blocked due to too many requests" on blockchain.info?

I only manually use the site and then only a couple times an hour at post so the block has to be a mistake.
Just wondering if this happens to anyone else?

Did any of you use the API?

I was getting the same problem when I was developing the Bitcoin part of tny.im. My server's IP got temporarily blocked for exceeding the API limits, and I believe that is the only way an IP can ever get temporarily blocked at blockchain.info. So it's either the API or a bug.

I think it is a bug or possibly a problem with ISP caching.  I have never used the API for anything just a half dozen manual verifications a day (if that).  Randomly my IP will be blocked for excessive use and then it goes away after a couple hours.  Sometimes I can go months between blocks once I got blocked twice is the same day.

I have just been blocked, why would they bother blocking you for using api? surely its for programmers and if its going to be requested in lines of code for 1000s of people to use why block.

Calls are rate limited because we only have finite bandwidth and server resources.

Send me an email at help@blockchain.info with your website name and reason for using the API and I will give you a code to bypass the limiter.
