I started this site a few months back and never got any response.   I think at the time the price was too high and I did not put too much effort in to advertizing that it was available.

The gist is I have a page full of spots for your banner ads to be displayed on http://www.millionbchomepage.com/.

Each pixel of your image will cost you 0.0001 BTC and will be permanently displayed on the front page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post here or PM me.

Maybe because the concept is a little unoriginal - the Million Dollar Homepage and its success belong to another internet era.

Agreed, no one is really going to visit that site and spend very long looking it, or not even scroll down, so while you think you will make 1,000 you be lucky to break even on your hosting and domain name

Wow, you must be desperate, a bump after less than 24 hours...  Wink

I think you'd make more money even if you started something else, which may be unoriginal, but something different still (and that belongs to this Internet era). Like, for example, starting yet another advertising network or a ponzi scheme Cheesy

I don't want to be harsh, but I think that it's very hard to feel like at home on this forum (unfortunately). But IMHO you should really consider to set up some more useful service which may in the meantime get you more money. Just warning you, so that you don't expect to get rich quick with your Million Bitcoin homepage. I don't think that idea worked for anyone else but the creator of the first Million Dollar homepage.
(also, I don't think people who paid for advertisements at that original million dollar page are really satisfied with the efficiency of the adverts, at least after six months past the hype about the idea)

I really am thankful for everyone’s advice to making money but that’s not my intent.

I made the page as an assignment for school back in January and just plan on using the coins generated from it to pay for advertizing and registration cost.

If you are intrested in posting a banner on the site please let me know.  If you want to share bitcoin business schemes, please write an eBook and sell it to someone that really cares. Smiley

I'd consider buying some pixels, but a few things bother me.

First, you guarantee the site will be up for 5 years, yet the domain is only registered for 1 year.  Can we get you to register it for the full 5 years first to show even a small commitment to the 5 years?

Second, do a little more publicity for your site.  For just over a dollar you can get 1000 visitors from bitvisitor.com

I see too many sites come and go in the bitcoin world, its sad.  Even though this concept is from ages ago and played out, I think it would be neat for the bitcoin community.

Also, how do people specify which blocks they want etc?  I notice the site is all static html, have you thought about using one of the free scripts online and integrating a bitcoin payment into it to make the site work like the original?  Would be much better if we could just select our own pixels, and upload an image and pay the correct amount all at once.

Shouldn't it be http://www.millionbtchomepage.com/  ??

Anyway, I agree with oldschool. You are claiming it will be up for 5 years, but you've only registered it for 1.  Sounds like a scam to me - you will run away with everyone's money when your limited sales efforts sell less than enough to pay your bills.
