http://themerkle.com/news/canadian-senate-banking-committee-releases-report-on-bitcoin-regulations/

The Canadian government has not taken any definitive legislative actions regarding digital currencies yet, but a recently released report by the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce provides some insights on the matter. The report (Digital Currency: You Can’t Flip This Coin), which is the result of several Senate committee hearings and revisions, calls for a fine balance on Bitcoin and digital currency regulations. The committee’s report acknowledges the beneficial uses of digital currencies such as bitcoin and views blockchain technology as groundbreaking.

Interesting I'll need to read up on this later, I remember when they had the seven part series on this for watching.
Besides being engaging it gave a good perspective of Bitcoin to the Senate so I am curious about what their recommendations of this report were.

But from the summary it sounds like they got the point across
“In the Committee’s view, it is likely that the innovation underlying these currencies and technologies has applications that have not yet been imagined. There is evidence that they reduce transaction costs, increase the choices available to customers and merchants, protect users’ identities and record all transactions.”
