Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Probably not. with or without that opencl sdk, a CPU will perform not as good as a GPU.
I'm mining at x8s Pool =) Come join us, we have cookies...

Intel Graphics Chip's have pretty much always been shocking - so I'd say that chances are it'd be about the same as a CPU anyway. If not worse.

it probably just means that ppl with sandy bridge chips can actually mine without being like other CPU miners. (if there are any left)

The 4-Way/SSE based miners will be faster than Intel's OpenCL CPU implementation unless the 4-way/SSE guys did a pretty poor job in their programming.

Well, Sandy Bridge packs up to 12 EUs (equivalent to ATI's SPs) and probably that OpenCL SDK would give programmers access to them. There is nothing wrong with your CPU contributing some Mhash/s more Smiley
