$1000 USD sounds like a solid going rate for an SP30. Although, with some people worried about a difficulty upswing (from next-gen miners that should be coming out any day now) you might see less demand at that price.

These units are selling on eBay for a minimum of 1500-1600 bucks. I would buy 10 sp30's right now for a grand a piece.

I have a perfect working sp30 and I am thinking about selling it along with 10 s3 rigs and a 900ghs rockminer. little undecided hence why I was posing the question of value.

1000$ if it is in good condition with all working chips absolutely not. The going rate for hardware that can do 4.5TH/2.5kW is about 1BTC/TH not considering PSUs (and a pair of server-grade gold 1250W PSUs is worth about $300-400) reasonable pricing is more like: SP30: $1400-1600 SP31: $1500-1700 Sp35: $1600-1900 these are well-built and can run at the same efficiency 0.5w/gh efficiency as an antminer s5 when tuned to roughly 4TH/2kW

And when will that happen? For sure?

reasonable pricing is more like: SP30: $1400-1600 SP31: $1500-1700 Sp35: $1600-1900
these are well-built and can run at the same efficiency 0.5w/gh efficiency as an antminer s5 when tuned to roughly 4TH/2kW
Fantasy prices with impending hashrate boom (sfards/21e/bitfury). Market prices, considering the value of the PSU's and the current difficulty rating. And if you haven't seen, 21 has already been putting hashrate on the network, and we still haven't seen a boom. Funny you mention Bitfury, rumours of their hashrate hitting the market were very premature when we found out their chips hadn't even been ordered. I leave the speculating to the traders, for hardware I rely on facts. Facts are, the price of hardware has not decreased one bit since January.

Most attentive miners though the next wave of bitfury/spondoolies/knc/bitmain would flood the market months ago - but hashrate has only gone up about 20% in the last 9 months. Whatever new hardware is added appears to be offset by the removal of inefficient, loud, and/or hot hardware. if BTCUSD decreases, its likely the hashrate will also but that the SP3x will remain profitable anyways. If BTCUSD increases hashrate may skyrocket, but the miner will also increase drastically in value as power cost becomes negligible (once again)

It all comes and goes in waves. Look at the previous years and generations of hardware hitting the market and you will see we are in for one hell of a hash-rate increase within the next 2-4 months.

^no way - summer is not a time when hashrate typically increases - the heat in the northern hemisphere limits most operations and is discouraging to home use.
we need to pass $350 before the retired hashrate begins to come online in any major amounts
