I don't know amount of legendary members.  But as far as when they had to start:

14 activity per:  14 days , 6 minutes , 40 seconds. ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0 )

To get legendary you have to have 800 775 activity or 55.35 periods. Since you cannot have to wait on period this would mean 56 periods at a minimum.  So over 784 days.

And legendary is random so it could be more then this.  You just don't know when it will happen only know minimum requirement.

I think their is not proper counting of these people. But you can calculate when did they started from here:

Legendary:   Activity: the Legendary membergroup has no universal activity requirement.
You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity,

So it mean one will become legendary after approximately 2.1 year.

I dont know how many legendary rank in here , i suggest your for manuel check  , if you want

Just click Tab Members > then click Position > find legendary From Up to down ....

There are 345 legendary accounts. you can check it searching in the members option. Why you want to know? Any reasons?

Yes we can say this, Because if you search it in the Member List you will not see the Legendary Rank. Just go and check by your self, You will see Admin, Then Staff List and then Sr.member List it mean there in no Legendary List

Hes talking about Hero Members that been on this forum that hopefully that get the legendary mark.

If anything I think its a random selection based on whats said already with 800+ activity.

You're wrong. If you search it in the Member List you will see Legendary rank. You only need to go "Member", then "Search for members", deflag all the checkboxes other than "Search by position", put the word "Legendary" in the search field and, finally, hit the search button.

I think that @irfan_pak10, after sorting the column order by clicking on the "Position" arrow, was expecting to see a list of members ordered by their ranking weight.
The fact is that the resulting order is just alphabetical so it can be a bit misleading.

I'm about a quarter of the way through the random period, but still up to 6 months to wait. Its a bit silly this random 9 months and don't think its needed.

huh.. I didn't notice that you are a Hero Member until just now.. I always saw you as a Legendary ranked member for some reason

They don't need to get demoted. Staff position is extra to their normal member ranks. When you calculate Legendary number in forum you should count them, too.
