I have an old Win 7 beatdown pc now somewhat broken running multibit 0.5.18 but still have access to the files.
I have a wallet on this pc I need to transfer to a new Win 8 pc.
I downloaded the new multibit HD on the win 8 pc and am having trouble trying to transfer my old multibit.wallet and data files to multibit HD.
If I cant get it going I lose all my coin...any help would be appreciated.  Huh

I think your best tactic is to:

+ Install MultiBit Classic on your new computer - see the multibit.org Downloads page
+ Copy the MultiBit wallet from your old computer
+ Open your wallet in MultiBit Classic and let it sync.

Then you can follow the notes in this help:
https://multibit.org/en/help/hd0.1/how-to-upgrade-from-classic.html

MultiBit HD   Lightweight desktop client.                    Bitcoin Solutions Ltd   Bespoke software. Consultancy.
