I predict that bitcoin will make history this year. As you can see, the price of bitcoin has gained some real traction lately, maybe it is reflect of the current scenario in the world economy,

If there is no block size capacity increase, there will be no big bitcoin price rise. If there is increase, the price will double.

i will show you mine bitcoin/usd prediction here:
I expect bitcoin to be pretty stable for the rest of this month,i dont think we may see some big price movements.
However i think that we will have 1000$ crossed in december,but it will surely (price) get back to some lower level,like 900$ or maybe 850 USD.
I also expect 2000$ in something like 2020,but not earlier probably,it is really hard to double the value of anything,especially any asset.

I agree with that. There is no big news to drive up the bitcoin price in the short term. The price will just consolidate.

That does not seem to be happening so far, and we bitcoin users would be really glad if that happens but we should predict that for coming year as this year is almost finished and if even we see the price going around $750 or above that would be great for us.

Yes...but it seems that many ICO's, lately, have been accepting ether as payment and are being controlled by the Ethereum blockchain.  Things are definitely changing....I predict that if bitcoin can't keep up technologically, then it will be surpassed by a more robust, more versatile, more innovative technology.  Bitcoin needs to get a wiggle on!

That's the problem because the developer of bitcoin is anonymous and we have no idea if he will do any innovation to improve bitcoin, but despite of that bitcoin is still gaining support from the community and its supporters outside and we can tell it by its blooming market.

Everybody seems to think that Bitcoin will just keep growing in value over time....I'm not so sure of that prediction.  Are new technologies being considered?  Yes, I loved my old Commodore 64....but it just can't do what my laptop does....right?  

but heres the difference though, bitcoin is the only thing thats really unable to duplicate.

unless you find another satoshi nakamoto and recreate it for something else or a similay system. this technology itself is rare.

Are you sure? I think that in future bitcoin can easily be duplicated and have a very similar system, an exact replica of the technology too maybe, but that would be similar to someone creating an exact replica of facebook. Will people give it a look? Yes. Will people migrate to facebook or stop using facebook? No. Facebook will always have a giant monopoly in social media largely because they are able to maintain and control the market.

The Facebook analogy is nice!  Here's a twist on it: The myspace fan base moved on to a more reliable venue, facebook...and the bitcoin fan base will also migrate to a more advanced system, (NEXT GENERATION)....it's the law of entropy....smile....Hint:  Keep an eye on the work of Sunny King...or the Ethereum team!

Myspace fan base evolved when there was another service which was unable to provide the quality of features, myspace couldn't keep up with the needs of its markets, so facebook conquered their market. The only way bitcoin could fail in such a scenario would be a much more advanced coin is born and makes bitcoin look like a technology which is lightyears behind. If a similar scenario takes place, I'll be damned.

Hint:  Keep an eye on the work of Sunny King...or the Ethereum team!

Sunny King is the magician who with its touch will became everything he will touch in gold. He has the help of Ethereum team with which are creating the most awesome coin which will get down bitcoin and all other coins. Remain to see for which purpose this coin will be used.

I predicted the opposite, I believe that we will achieve the best improvement for the year 2016 and the price will continue to rise until we reach the amount of $1,000. I know I am too optimistic but this is bitcoin, I believe so much on the future of bitcoin.

I predicted the opposite, I believe that we will achieve the best improvement for the year 2016 and the price will continue to rise until we reach the amount of $1,000. I know I am too optimistic but this is bitcoin, I believe so much on the future of bitcoin.

Believing in the future of bitcoin is good that is what everyone should do, but predicting something like that to be done in 2016 which is almost came to an end is being too optimistic as you said, maybe we can reach that extent in early next year and even if that happens it would be great.

Predicting the future is pointless but can be a fun discussion. I don't have any grand opinion - I foresee the usual obstacles: 1) Slow adoptions, 2) Challenged perception issues from the uninformed, 3) Potentially some dilution by competing crypto currencies.

I have stronger opinions on what needs to be done to help Bitcoin. Bitcoin needs to become more familiar with a greater part of the population. Not that the population needs to use it but the population needs to be more aware of it, to the point that it's not a mystery or clouded by misconception. This can be done easiest by mainstream businesses accepting bitcoin for payment, having the "Bitcoin accepted here!" signs next to registers. Adoption by the broad population doesn't need misconceptions to be explained, they just need to see their neighborhood and nationwide stores use it...most people won't even be curious enough to care about the misconceptions at that point. They'll see - Carrefour accepts it? It must be good!

Do you really think it will go such bad with the bitcoin i dont think there will change anything but when it does allot of people will affect it becuase they are not paying attention.

My prediction about bitcoin is that in 2017 more shops especially webshops will be accepting the bitcoin causing more people to be interested in it.
This causes a chain of events which will have the price increase more people buy bitcoin > spend it on shops > repeat.
