Anything bought now will only be shipped after everybody else's orders?
Meaning we'll still pay the novelty price but will be probably mining at 25bitcoin/block + very high difficulty?
Is it a good idea to buy now or is it too late?
Personally, though I have hardware early pre-ordered (June) I've recently ordered more. I suspect my recent orders (End of September) won't arrive till January, but they should still be profitable.. they won't be 3 month ROI's like some are expecting in the short term, but paying for itself in 9-12 months seems like a smart investment to me. |

BFL has stated that in their most resent news release on their forums. we will not forget our customers and will make every effort to transition you, the customer, to the second generation ASIC as easily, quickly and in the most cost effective manner as possible. |

BFL's success is both a pro and con for the customer. You know you'll probably get a good working product, but the lineup for it means you may get it way later than you want.

Keep in mind, if you buy BFL, you have some sort of upgrade path for the future. Something you are unlikely to get with the other vendors, so if you're in it for the long haul it's something to consider.
Yes, the trade-in program is definitely a plus for BFL. But I read on BFL's website that it will expire in March 2013 and I suppose the 2nd generation ASIC won't be available by then, so I wouldn't be able to take advantage of trade-in program unless it gets extended.  Wrong trade in program.Yes the FPGA "trade in" ends in March...BUT the "ASIC upgrade trade in" for NEXT generation ASIC's is what he was hinting towards "As with our FPGA products, when the time comes for our second generation ASIC products, we will not forget our customers and will make every effort to transition you, the customer, to the second generation ASIC as easily, quickly and in the most cost effective manner as possible." It all depends of the price BTC are sold.. (I prefer to state it as : fiat Currency bought) Whatever the difficulty or the power of the mining operation.. If the fiat currency is bought at a ration of 100 Fiat by BTC or 2 Fiat by BTC.. As an optimistic and a true beleiver, I hoard half of my mined BTC to buy U$ at 100 U$ / BTC ratio. So, suppose someone mine 0.1 BTC / day for 1$ electricity, may end up 9$ profitable by day ! was my 2 satoshi |
