Hello,

I've sent $6 to a friend of mine since yesterday and this is not the first time I send him to his address, but since yesterday, it has 0 confirmations.

I tried to put the "Transaction ID" in this blockcahin's url

https://blockchain.info/tx/[Transaction ID here]

It gave me the following error, [Transaction not found].

What shall I do ?

I'm using Bitcoin Core 0.10.0

Thank you in advance.

Please provide some detail, e.g. transaction ID, so that we may investigate.

Probably because of low transaction fees

https://blockchain.info/tx/6d18a727d39ec2f59baa065f6094f266e26db7989a16866b8561eb55649e4fe6

But it should take no more than 6hours to confirm.

The issue is, I didn't mess with the transaction fees since I installed Bitcoin Core.

Only to this address the priority is "Medium"

And 6 hours has been passed already, we are entering into 13 hours right now.

All you can do is wait really. Nothing much people can do on here but your money will either confirm or get returned to you eventually.

There is no amount left to use as transaction fee and hence, the fee is 0.00001004BTC. Wait, that is what is best to do now. Next time onwards, check transaction fee before you send.

Your priority is quite low hence it wont be eligible for the 50kb free transaction reserve in the block. If we look at the transaction fee, you are paying ~0.00001BTC/kb which is quite low compared to other transactions and there are lots of transactions so your transaction will be at the bottom of the queue. The soft limit of the blocks is 750kb and it will stop filling up with transactions once it reaches that limit if the pool/miner choose not to go past that. They have the rights to reject your transaction to go into their block if they want to. All you can do now is to wait and hopefully a miner would include this into their block. Otherwise, if your client do not rebroadcast the transaction after it gets dropped by the mempool, your coins would appear as unspent and you can spend them again.

Thank you all for your reply.

@ranochigo : When I send bitcoins to anyone, I don't mess with the fees.

Could you guide me how to set the fees correctly so that when I send bitcoins, it will "always" be in High priority ?

Thank you all again.

it's better to set at least the default fee, i think it's 1k now? anyway between 1k and 10k should suffice, to have a proper time of confirmation, but personally i don't mind paying 100k satoshi to speed it up, we are still talking about 1/4 os dollar

By default, Bitcoin Core 0.10+uses a mechanism which estimates the fees needed for x blocks before confirmation and it assumes that you don't need the funds immediately hence they would introduce a slower fee. They
To adjust the fees, go to Send tab,
and you should see this:
Click the the choose... beside the transaction fees to choose the specific transaction fee.

You can adjust the slider based on how much block you want it to confirm. It isn't fully accurate however due to the fact that miners can reject your transaction.
