http://digitalmoneytimes.com/crypto-news/plex-hacker-demands-bitcoin-ransom/

Even though most Plex users have managed to reset their password to a more secure one, the hacker(s) still obtained a record of customer data.  At the time of publication, a user called “Savata” claims responsibility for this breach, and if a ransom – valued at US$2,400 or roughly 9.5 Bitcoin – is not paid, all of this information will be released through the torrent network.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

What I find interesting is how low of a ransom he is demanding, is it even worth the time spent hacking?

First time I've seen that, did not know there was a app for this forum, is it on the play store? Found it

In regards to the article, could be that the 2.4 he's asking is quite a bit in the country where he lives or he maybe thought that the chances of it getting paid will be higher if the ransom is not that high.
