The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

No. I don't need to lift as I'm a direct descendant of the ancient Hercules bloodline.

There are many reasons for lifting weights or exercising...

It's obvious for anyone that competes or trains as an athlete, to improve performance.  Some people want to be stronger, others like the way it makes them look and feel.

I used to lift for strength and aesthetics...but I lift less nowadays and do other types of physical activity, but still enjoy it.

You don't need to lift weights for this. Many people just do squats or pull ups / push ups etc. I know many people who don't use weights at all and they're ripped. I'm too lazy however haha. I think a good diet is key to remaining lean with little to no body fat but if you want tone or definition you're going to have to do some resistance training.

There doesn't need to be a point.  There are some obvious benefits of physical activity for those that are motivated to do it.  For others, the benefits are not motivating enough to do it and may choose to spend their time doing something else.

I am an ectomorph (thin with high metabolism) so I was skinny growing up, and weaker when it came to playing sports.  Strength training changed the game for me and allowed me to compete without that strength disadvantage.  Over time, it became very enjoyable, increases my appetite, allows me to sleep better, releases more endorphins and a calmer state of mind.

I think it becomes a long-term lifestyle when people enjoy it, and maybe a short-term activity to maybe lose some weight or get in shape for a particular event if it's not enjoyable.

If you don't train, just think of what it would be like to be maybe twice as strong or faster or more agile.  It's a great feeling.

Your body and mind are the only things in your life that you can always train.
The question is why would you not want to do it?

I lift and run 5-6 days a week. It improves my stress, appetite, sleep, anxiety, mood, energy and overall health. That's why I do it.

People get use to it after awhile. It becomes their routine so it goes into their lifestyle like running or jogging first thing in the morning. When i use to lift I'd get a muscle tear that apparently makes you feel good when you continuously lift weighs. It gives an adrenaline high that I hear is similar to a high from meth.  Tongue

because i liked being big and intimidating. no time at the moment unfortunately.

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

So? Do you even lift? If so explain why.

I sit in front of the computer for 6-8 hours a day and if I don't exercise, I may die of cardiac arrest due to unwanted fats being stuck in my body. Also to maintain a good shape so my wife won't look for any other guys lol.

I don't lift. But many people in wheelchairs do, because it is hard rolling a wheelchair up the stairs all by yourself. A lift is a lot easier.
