July 2014 btc price was around $500-$600.

Bulltards are celebrating today's $300 like it's 1999.

I don't like to piss on anyone's parade, but seriously look at the big picture: bitcoin crashed from the high of $1250 in Dec'2013, all the way down to $150 in January 2015.

$300 today, $200 tomorrow.
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I hate to say it but I agree. Flash rises (pumps) always have a dump (reality check). The market depth just isn't thete

Since when is 20% rise in a month a "pump?" ltc going 600%+ in a month is a pump. This is either the start of a pump or a small wave up within the same narrow range we've seen most of the year.

look at the big picture

One might think that the big picture starts at the Dec 2013 ATH. But to most of us the big picture is bigger than that.

Ok - bitcoin is up about 100x from ~3 years ago. And at a market-cap of ~$4B, it is still a *tiny* asset-class with much room to grow.

Many of us have been looking at the big picture for years.

Bitcoin is the first monetary system to credibly offer perfect information to all economic participants.

Do you really using the term big picture and $1250 like that was ever reasonable?

@OP: No. $300 is not a really important value, but the fact that ~$265 has hold the last days is of crucial importance. I expect the price to swing some time between $266 and $320.

But there is also a pessimistic scenario, for me. The "bloating attack" with the microtransactions that make confirmations slow is a real problem. There is urge to solve this, because this way Bitcoin's usability is heavily damaged. And usability matters, every marketing guy knows that.

the big picture is telling me that we are increasing since the birth of bitcoin, 300 in about 5.5 years, around 0.15 cents per day

big picture is the all time chart if you are not well aware of, certainly not excluding what happened before 2013

Yes, the big picture is much bigger than a really exciting price increase spike, it is much more than just some profit making shit. When there is heavy adoption, and the worth of the bitcoins multiplies so much, and ig pturns a lot of people into millionaires, that's when the big picture takes place. If people hold coins rather than trip about holding them, they'd happily be millionaires. And yes, easily too.

Yeah and someone paid thousands of BTC for 20 dollars worth of Pizza ... whats your point. You guys always point to the ATH as the point where BTC failed, yet never look at the big picture.

Are you count $299 or 280 as "$200" or do you mean 199-200.

If you mean $200.. doubtful, there is this country called China, I hear they are a pretty big ecom looking for secondary investments.

I also hear the Chinese Central Communist-Capitalist Pig Party does NOT like bitcoins or any other cryptocurrencies. Good luck with that.

To put it into perspective, total budget for NYC police force in 2013 was 4.6 billion USD. Anyone who thinks tech like Bitcoin will not be worth more than what a bunch of stupid cops are wasting in just one year should really leave this forum. Just go away finaly, stupid bears.

You may not like it, but yet there are plenty of people out there who is waiting for the price to fluctuate and make little profit. As long as the bitcoin is seen as way of profit it will never make it's anchor.

To make any profit off bitcoin, the investors shouldn't look as to make little profit but the big one. Accurate investments at proper time and there will be so much of money all these investors could make. Even I am waiting for a price drop, so I could buy in large in Btc. If it doesn't happen in the next 3-4 months, I will still buy less at whatever price.
