How to make Bitcoin transactions untraceable?

I understand that some people would like to make their coins less traceable. There is no disadvantage in that. I believe the real difficulty is not the anonymity when you are saving coins. It's not putting a name to the coins when I spend it.

If I buy physical goods with bitcoin, there is a shipping name and address attached to the order. When I sell them for fiat at at exchange, there is my bank account info and my identification papers. The only way out I see is to sell bitcoin for fiat or products face-to-face with no "logs", but you can't do that for large amounts.

I am not particularly bothered with the "mixing" at the moment because I only need to do it once before I spend it and there may be better ways in the future.

cant you make everything untraceable if you mix your coins with bitmixer a few times? i guess its the best option to hide who is actually sending bitcoins and its the way to make everything private

there are many specific cases where you could do truly anonymous transactions, like purchasing and consuming a purely digital service or goods over an anonymous network.

2-dice, bet and casino (gambling) sites
3-untrackable altcoins (xmr, dash etc.)

It's not that hard to hide your money.

1. Mixers service claims to not keep your info but they could easily be releasing information to the authorities. It requires large amount of trust.
2. Gambling site have no obligations to keep your information private. They can easily release the transaction informations when requested.
3. Some exchanges requires verification and many of those have to comply with the local laws. They would have to release the information when requested.

Don't even try. The NSA will put you on a terrorist list if you pay cash at an internet cafe. Being able to setup an ASIC miner has to put you somewhere...

Just like cash... Protection for theft and cybercrime can exist in the form of insurance. The money world ran just fine using just cash for a  long time.

Yes, this in an option. But every transfer through a hot wallet what you not control is a risk for your coins.

If you are interested in a high level of anonymity for your existing coins, you may transfer them through several hot wallets of high volume. It could be exchanges, gambling sites, public mixers, etc. and using a chain of proxies to get a less traceable Internet connection.

You could try blockchain.info's "Shared Coin" (open source, based on CoinJoin) if you don't want to trust a third party.

It won't remove the link between your inputs and outputs completely. Instead, it groups multiple persons' inputs and outputs together and makes it very hard to trace the individual transaction.

Kristov Atlas has already warned about using Shared Coin. See this thread at reddit for your best options.

connect an address BTC for an individual can be very difficult but it's not impossible. There are some standard practices you can use to reduce that risk, particularly not reusing addresses.
You could also look into using Bitcoin mixer.

use more than two exchanges and turn your bitcoin in monero or another cryptonight coin that is less known, it should be enough to hide your transactions

or another simple thing is earning bitcoin through anon stuff like,  signature campaign, mining or faucets

Great idea (the first one). It can even be complicated using more exchanges.

What I usually do is to send x amount of btc to an exchange and withdraw it to a new address. Most of the exchanges do not use the same address if you withdraw your coins. In that way, your coins may be mixed with other coins and will likely be untraceable. Other mixer service also do the thing, but I'm not sure whether your coins would really be that secure or 'mixed' because any time, these mixing services could tell the information to the authorities.

well this is exactly what bitmixer.io also wanted to do...but they can't make bitcoin trancastions completly difficult its just they are making it a bit harder to trace..but if you want then just use a different bitcoin address for every transaction..that will only good way to get a good privacy

A combination of a mixer and a gambling site would be enough for making your coins completely untraceable as well. And you really don't have to make a bet on a casino site to withdraw.

well some websites might send you the same bitcoins from the same address that you sent it into, you can try mixing your coins a few times would it make everything untraceable enough?

The reason is the following (because someone else also asked me via pm). A friend of mine was using Bitcoin for some hosting stuff mainly. He bought some coins and spend them. What he did not know was, that a part of the bought coins was involved into a theft before. A couple of weeks later the police knocked on its door and asked him some questions. It was quickly clear that has nothing to do with the theft. But it was a strange situation. To prevent such happenings, I would like to make the coin origin invisible By the way, the police got his address from the webhosting company where he paid its hosting plan with Bitcoin.
