Indian startup sets up crypto-currency platform for Greeks

http://www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/indian-startup-sets-up-crypto-currency-platform-for-greeks-115071200536_1.html

An Indian startup, claiming to be a non-profit organisation, today said Greek citizens can get 2,000 euro each in form of a virtual currency in lieu of promissory notes signed by them.

The company, named Trestor Foundation, also claims it is the only global organisation that can help people in Greece to get the money despite the capital control on bank withdrawls imposed by the government there.

And Trestor continues to remain in the news.  Smiley

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Leaving trestor aside, Indian media understands shit about cryptocurrencies.
Before 2015, for past 5 years they were busy talking about drugs (silk road) & money lost (mtgox) everytime bitcoin's name came up and I am yet to see something that talks about blockchains, let alone bitcoin 2.0.

"India is the guru of the nations, the physician of the human soul in its profounder maladies; she is destined once more to remould the life of the world and restore the peace of the human spirit.
But Swaraj is the necessary condition of her work and before she can do the work, she must fulfil the condition."

You forget the ponzi scheme stories. Smiley
I think we need some success stories in the Indian space for the media to get really interested and then take some effort in putting together a story.

This wouldn't be much of a problem if we have someone influential in the media who is a supporter of bitcoin. Perhaps they like publishing stories which are negative as they feel people prefer it more.

I doubt anyone actually cares about it. Also saw them opening an ANN thread on the altcoin announcement section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1106047.40 Not much interest.
