We need more reputation systems in order to weed out the bad buyers. Other than that, as a previous online cd key seller, I never had any issues with bad buyers. Either the payment was made, or it wasn't Smiley

Unless you plan to accept paypal payments i dont think you will have any trouble, use escrow or make them send the money first and there will be no issues as far as i know.

usually i prefer if they go first, if you have a certain position with good different type of trust(having many trust from the same member is seen as abuse for me) from different member, you can ask for that

it's always worked for me

If you term a person who is quite rude or unprofessional person as a bad buyer, it has been few cases where I have met such buyers. I just give them a final price which I have set for my product and it's a take it or leave it deal for them. When they finally agree to dealing, they pay first and I send them the product/gift card. Sometimes I also meet unprofessional bad buyers and I need to ask them about 10-15 times to pay me and that's why I avoid dealing with such buyers even though the person may be trustworthy but the person doesn't keep up to his/her word. I don't keep anyone waiting and hence don't like to wait for over a week for my payment.

If you term a scammer or a person who exhibits a sketchy behavior as a bad buyer, I ask them to go first or use an escrow. If they do then the deal is taken forward else they themslves cancel it.  Cheesy

then use escrow, but if you have been tagged with red trust, you're done none will trade with you minus newbie that aren't aware how the system work

the new strategy that scammers are using now, is making new account and trading with high trusted member or scam buster, to gain a positive trust from them, this is done with low amount, then they proceed to scam a big amount more easily

so be aware of this, the only legit member are not those that have only green trust, but are those that have green trust that come from different people and the risked amount is very high and not few cents

The key is using a trusted escrow.  This means neither side should be able to be cheated.  Which is a good thing.

The other thing is if you think you might be dealing with a "bad guy", stop the transaction.  No need to go through the headache of a bad trade.

its not wise to always be willing to go first without escrow; people have scammed on this forum for less than a dollar before, and every time escrow circumvented in the trading process, the temptation of a scam always comes up. its better to think of traders as a ticking time bomb, just look at what happened with maidak.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

It's not indeed, it's not wise to use escrow without making the proper preparation and asking for the proper information, first of all asking for a signed message from the escrow is a must to prove he is indeed the original owner and he wasn't hacked. I would never trust anyone, not even the most trusted escrows with more than 0.5 bitcoins, even if they sign a message there is still a super slim chance of them being hacked. So if you are doing a trade with big amounts of money i suggest using different escrows and split it.

Do a research! It all depends of the payment method, reputation of the buyer/seller, if he or she is going first or you are going first.

Just use a common sense and you should be fine, and yes, do not use reversible methods of payment, especially Paypal.

Few reasons, avoiding fees, charging fees to make a benefit for yourself, it may be easier for someone to buy a huge amount of altcoins in here than on an exchange, of course it would depend on the exchange and the volume of the altcoin, generally i dont think there is any benefit to trade here instead of on exchanges unless yu are trading a really big amount.

no, you should use escrow on every transaction. just because the amount for the trade is small doesnt mean much, people have scammed on here for a single dollar, and it will happen again.

trading here can earn you more, because you can charge the occasional +5% on your trading, checks some users that are selling in this forum, the same rule on localbitcoin is applyed

Bad buyers are noted by different type of nefarious activities however I will be able to guide you if you can state the type of bad buyer experience that you had.
By providing this details I will be properly guided to give you good advise.

It's a risk they have to take in dealing with that kind of business. They must be prepared to both earn and in misluck loose their money or product. That is just how it goes.

Much verification, use your common sense, don't accept every payment method. Even if you do your homework well and you screen everything right, someone will screw you over sooner or later. Since Bitcoin is irreversible this still gives scammers little edge. Hope this will change though as industry progresses.

When you provide services or send electronic data and charge for them, you can't face with bad buyers, but if you are selling any kind of physical objects, that need to be shipped you will be faced with a lot of difficulties. Face it there will always be bad buyers as there are many bad sellers.

trust rating, feedback and escrow if combined in a single deal are the best tools for online sellers.
asking them (buyers) to send first is also good  if the online seller already have a good reputation as well

Once your in to any kind of business then you will face these kind of people so if it is not very high value item just leave it and move on thinking it is a small loss to you. If you can't take these small losses then business will not be suitable for you.

Yeah it would be good practice for everyone to just use escrow for every transaction.
But wouldn't there be times when there just isn't anyone available willing to provide escrow services?
