Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Great coins!

What's the DCAM designation on some of the ANACS slabs?

Thanks.

It stands for deep cameo. It means the coin has exceptional eye appeal and has a great mirror finish iirc.

Interesting, and does this classification come in correlation to grading numbers (i.e. all MS 68 are DCAM?) or irrespective of the grading number?

Sounds like coins with the DCAM designation could command a higher sale price on the secondary market.

It's generally irrespective of grading numbers, but I don't think there will be something like AU58 with DCAM. If there is it will be uncommon I guess.

Congrats on getting very nice grades back from ANACS. Didn't you just buy a MS68 all silver single on Blazedout's auction?

I do not. But I am interested in one, preferably with a decent ball team and good parking. Do you happen to have one available?

If smoothie didn't keep stealing my bitcoin, I'd offer 6BTC for the MS69.  You can get quite a few ballpark hotdogs for that!

Hello Everybody Smiley

My question might seem pretty obvious for the experts, but according to the pictures the 1Btc Silver really look like the 1Btc Gilt/Silver (some people call them Gold/Silver if i understood correctly, although there is no gold in them). So i was wondering if the differences between these two coins were really noticiable. Also, in terms of value, would it be reasonnable to think that a Gilt/Silver is 10% higher than a Silver of the same grading?

What do you think?

I have one of each. They both look pretty indistinguishable to me. If I remember rightly Casascius took existing all silver coins and added the gold plating to them.

The gold/silver is rarer, 483 vs 1300 all silver, and one of the last coins he offered. I ordered mine from him a few days before he got shut down. I'm not sure if it's worth more but those are some factors plus it looks sexier too.

Yep, there is generally a small premium of the silver / golds. Not because of the gold element, just because they are slightly rarer. Some folks also like the look of them better ... although opinion is split there.

I'll give ya 2.5 for it, or trade you a first-funded all-silver.

Thank you no, I have one of those already. If you have any brass of quality similar to those on the auction block I may be interested.
