I've tried it and it looks good. But I'm not a daily base coinbase user Sad
Also we already had one (@telebit)

it's a start, but i was really hoping it would be more like an animated feature. something like sims or secondlife (but better articulated)
that way it could guide users through technical processes in real time, literally showing them how to do things like sign messages etc.

this julia thing is just annoying.

I think julia is much simpler to use than telebit, telebit has tons of commands which the average person never is going to use and julia allows you to connect to your Coinbase account and steer things from the app. This way it's great for kids and teens aswell to learn with Bitcoin.

Its currently an MVP version of Juilia, soon the ability to buy and sell bitcoin using coinbase API directly from within Telegram will be added and we are working to improve Juilia AI so a new user will be able to get answer to common questions.

The AI isn't added yet as of now these are the possibilities, will come soon.

Give them a week and you will find Julia on your sofa eating a take out pizza.

Nobody has cracked it yet, so no. There is a 300k price for you if you manage to do so, good luck.

If Telegram does then whatsapp will look into it too.

Maybe it only needs a certain number of user requests? For paying the yearly fee in bitcoin? In german subforum it seems that a big company will take bitcoin payments in now too again, they dropped it but it seems many complained and were disappointed. Finally they decided to put it back in.

Might be that whatsapp only needs a push. Smiley

It looks like a positive idea, but i'd rather stick with Mycellium if I want to do any Bitcoin operations. I can imagine being drunk and coming back from partying very late, checking your phone and thinking you are talking to some girl called Julia and doing something stupid.
It's better to have your money related stuff separate and encrypted from social stuff.

They don't have control over it, it's all between your device Telegram encryption, SSL encryption, Coinbase. You control the daily withdrawal limits and receive a notification from Coinbase regarding every action. Julia uses the same oauth2 implementation ChangeTip, Purse and all the other Coinbase related apps are using. It has been approved by Coinbase themselve https://www.coinbase.com/apps/55aeb83f69702d2db5000056. GetGems the company behind Julia and the getgems bitcoin social wallets is a registered company. http://getgems.org/

As an active instant messenger user this feature is gold and Telegram has 65M users, if only 2.5% of them use this, it would be more than the whole bitcoin network users from the last 6 years lol.

Indeed, whatsapp is huge, once it gets inside whatsapp, BTC will go viral as hell. What they should do actually is going decentralized, so they can avoid being spied on all over the place. Whatsapp right now is one of the less secure messaging options you can have. If it ran under the blockchain the problem would be solved.

Or people can get behind the companies that spend money developing the Bitcoin community and actually innovate now. I have GEMZ and will keep them for some time, and have also downloaded the getgems app.

To the person who asked where to get GEMZ, I'd suggest the counterparty.io platform. I'm guessing the GEMZ will be more expensive on other exchanges. I'm not 100% sure about this as trying to always convert XCP/BTC/USD in my head all the time hurts.
