Hey, I have just two very important questions. What if someone offer to me 0.6 BTC / week for wearing his signature, but the website that his signature promotes is a scam? Can I get default -ve trust ratings like many people did for "Promoting ponzi", "Promoting scam" or whatever?

If someone is offering you 0.6 a week it's you that is probably going to get scammed,. You might get negative if you knowingly promote a scam but why risk it or promote it in the first place? If it's a scam you probably won't get paid either unless you get the money upfront or in escrow.

You would most likely get warned that you are promoting a scam before anyone reputable gives you negative trust for promoting a scam.

However your bigger concern should probably be that you would possibly contribute to others having their money stolen from them. You should certainly exercise some editorial restraint when you are approached by a scammer to advertise for them.

This came up recently regarding a sig campaign similar to my one off version.
If the person leaving you the negative does so because he
Quote
strongly believe(s) that this person is a scammer
then his logic would presumably be that, by you taking money for promoting a site which he believes is a scam you become in effect, a scammer's accomplice in his eyes and therefore deserve it.
There would be two arguments that you could make against that
1) It's advertising space, like a billboard or this forum's own ads, and I am only the medium not the message
2) It is only opinion, not fact, that the site is a scam and not up to me to judge
The comeback to those would be
1) You take responsibility for what's in your signature
2) Preemptive action against scams based on probability is reasonable

As you know, feedback is hard to get removed once left. The question to ask yourself is "Is it worth it"?

Of course it's paid upfront. I got more deals and this is the highest one, but the website he wants to promote is a scam ( nothing new, but I will stay honest and won't say what website it is ).

Thanks guys for the messages you sent, I will go through it now.

If you already know the site is a scam and you promote it anyway then you can be completely sure you will get negative trust.

0.6 is certainly a nice sum which makes you think possibly a scam to earn a quick buck or two.  I have seen some people warned about carrying an avatar / signature that is a known scam which is good as it gives the person time to research (which should be done initially) and then remove it without receiving negative.

If you wear a scam signature them people will see you as a not trustworthy person and if some dispute arises, it will be used against you, and you may receive negative trusts too.

If you do at least require upfront payment and enough to buy another account when your current one is rep-destroyed

I think it is very 'dishonest' to promote a well known scam site, another scenary is that you will not know if that site is scam... but in this case you (only as example) know(s) that this site is a scam.

I don't think you would get any negative ratings, i mean recently a staff member was participating in a signature or avatar campaign promoting a scam site and nothing happened to him so nothing should happen to you.

It will be paid upfront, I already get 0.4 BTC for this week with BIT-X, so it's not that high...

He was probably in a default trust list so if there are some people talking shit about him he would give them negative trust for false accusation :/

If he had done that, he would have been removed from default trust list right away.

There were 2 big differences in that case: first it wasn't sure it was a scam, there were just strong suspicious; and he stopped promoting it quite soon after a thread was opened and he read people's opinions. So we can't really compare your question with that case.

If you promote a scam and keep promoting it while knowing for sure it is a scam of course you would deserve negative trust and you would get it. Someone who knowingly  helps anyone to scam in any way and gets money to do so is definitely untrustworthy.

Lmao, there are other differences as well, he is a STAFF member and he only stopped promoting it because he was going to get paid other amount than the first one he thought, you can even read that in the thread so as i said if this guy gets negative trust rating, dserrano should too.

Geeze, how many posts are you making that you are making .4 BTC per week? At .0013 per post you would need to make over 300 posts per week which really doesn't match your overall post count.

But yea, if you start advertising a site you know is a scam expect a negative rating.

Also there is a chance that people will think you are behind the site if you are the only one advertising it.

Ok, thanks. I already did about 310 posts so yeah, it's more than 0.4 BTC.
I won't accept any offer like this Smiley

310 posts a week Jeez!
I can do 100 constructive posts a week & it kind of kills me with work & having to go out & socialise etc. how do you do 300 posts a week bro, that's 42 posts a day. Fair play if you can do it but it seems a lot. I hope you're not spamming to get your numbers up Wink

Edit - Just checked your post quality & it's not bad at all. Well done I guess.

Owner want promote it if it's already a scam, but it's a ponzi scheme and it will likely turn into a scam shit, so I can clearly said that it's a scam and that's why I asked.. He offered me 0.6 BTC / week and no limits, that means I can post freely, so I don't need to make 300 posts for 0.4 BTC like I have to do it now.
